Well, of course the 325is, with its inline 6, provides much greater power, than the 4 of the 318is. The numbers are:

    1992:
    325is:
    189 HP @ 6,000
    181 TQ @ 4,700

    318is:
    138 HP @ 5,900
    127 TQ @ 4,600

In 1993, the 325is engine got VANOS and while the numbers remained the same, the 181 lb/ft of TQ was achieved at a lower 4,200 rpm. Also, in 1993, the TQ in the 318is increased to 129 @ 4,500 rpm.

In 1996, the 318is got a new 1.9L engine, with same HP but TQ increased to 133 at 4,300 rpm.

Anyway, the 318is is a bit lighter and thus a bit more tossable than the 325is. Both provide great ride and handling attributes, but the pricier 325is has more luxury features, etc.

    Good luck.

Go for the 325. I went for the 318 and wish I waited a few more months to save for the 325, it is easier to mod(availibilkity of parts) and faster.
