Saw about 50 of us bmw folk at the jgmods meet/drive/bbq e9x's, e46's, e36's (me and only two others ), and two e30's. Fun awesome times!
Not sure about the model, but maybe it's a 335i, it has the dinan logo in the back.
Well, all in all, looks pretty clean, just right around the block from me.
That's James's car. He is here looking around.Originally Posted by Memoreyezz
Anyone an E39 M5 owner here? You passed me on El Camino and San Bruno Avenue in San Bruno around 4 PM earlier this afternoon. I think you had black rims too. I didn't get a clear look at your car since the idiot in front of me decided to slam on their brakes.
White E39, gold bbs rims.
Location: San Ramon
I was at work when I saw your car, I also saw you while I was turning into the main street you were headed into the gated houses. Just wanted to say sweet ride
Oh cool? What's his screen name?Originally Posted by chuck328IS

Anyone drive a mutli colored (front driver side quarter panel is red, rest is white) 2002 in the area? I caught you this morning on El Camino right before 380. I flew past a bus and saw you, and you were flying to. You left me in the dust on the onramp towards 280 North.
Who drives an Avus M3 coupe, lowered, fixed-back bucket driver's seat, wheels(BBSs maybe?) and some ridiculous track pads? Saw you on my way to school on Homestead, you merged left onto Sunnyvale-Saratoga... (I was in the silver M3 with red wheels)

Funny, I just saw him again tonight, he was fighting the gas pump to fill his 2002.
Pretty cool car, and I definitely know it isn't some lowered car anymore.
By the way he was filling up his gas tank, he seemed like a funny guy.
Spotted a lowered avus blue e36. Looked like it had gunmetal apex wheels. Driver was herra cute too. Wish i would have gotten dat number. Holla.
That would be me. I live in San Bruno, work at the Dodge dealer in Colma.
The suspension is about as done up as it will get short of me dropping a few grand into coilovers. Poly bushings and subframe inserts, bilstein sports, H&R springs, adjustable sways, wider than stock wheels, and Bavaria front control arms (-2.5 camber, +4.0 caster). Handles like a dream, very hard to break the car loose. Could be the blown engine, but that doesn't stop me from driving the piss out of the car.
The engine is a stock M10 I bought from the above poster that outed me by name. I put it in in april as a spare while I refresh the orignal engine. It's got a Weber 38/38, top end performance 4-1 header, broken ansa muffler (held up with a coat hanger wrapped in a shop rag), resonator deleted, JB racing flywheel, and extreme blowby on the rings. I put the engine in with about 50% leakdown past the rings, and bought two cases of oil. So far I've managed to go through 22 quarts of oil since april - subtract 4 for the original fill, and I've burned 18 quarts of oil. I just change the filter, and add a quart every time I fill up.
Body work has been a mix mash of paint jobs in poorly ventilated areas and beer induced artwork. They start off halfway decent and well planned, and by the second coat the paint fumes have gotten to me so bad that it seems like a good idea to half ass the entire thing. One of these days I'll paint the car somewhat respectably, but until then I'll keep pissing off the crazy lady at the end of my street. She complained to me that my car "looks like it's 20 years old".
My best advise if you spot me again, try to stay in front of me - I tend to blow out massive clouds of oil smoke.
BTW, my gas pump antics are pretty much the only way to keep the gas from spitting right back out, ask just about any old car owner about that one. I'll admit I exagerated a bit this time.
Didn't see too much smoke that one morning I saw you. I still admire the car regardless, interesting story about the paintjob too :P
Ryan, I'll get you one of these days, I assume your car is the grey e36. I'll be on the lookout.
It's generally when someone is tailgating (especially convertibles) or on freeway off ramps when I'm downshifting
Sounds good. Im usually leaving San Bruno in the early 7:30 AM, and I assume you do too.
Somebody in a black m5. Talked to him and he said he had an e36. Directed him to bimmerforums. Hope he knows what model name his car would be now. Lom
