Seems my high beams are on the fritz. My low beams (DDM 55w HIDs) and fogs work just fine. The blue high beam dash indicator works. I do not get an error message on the CC readout. Are the highs even wired into the ccm?
The bulbs are good, I checked them with a 12v power source.
Any ideas?
There is no error with highs
The high beam signal to the LKM is processed through a relay in the crash module. Perhaps a good swift backhand on that module will wake it up.
I assume you've checked fuses.
I did check the fuse but not the relay.
Also, I did pull my crash control module/relay months ago because of the hazards going off randomly. But I think my highs worked after I had pulled it. I'll stick it back in and see what happens.
Thanks guys I'll give it look when I get home from the office.
I thought only the hazards were supposed to flash after an impact?
You've checked the solder joints for the relays in the LKM? I couldn't believe how obvious the cracks were in my LKM. Easy to resolder tho.

The highs and fogs are intertwined.
I remember on my ex's 95 525 I put Euro smiles in it with DDM HID lows and didn't hook up the highs and her fogs didn't work. But there was no error code for any of the lights being out
I own mostly junk. Except the Porsche, that's kind of cool.
All the motorcycles are trash which you can read about at

I'll update it eventually

I have not looked inside my lkm. I'll give that a check too.
Garret, that's why I mentioned my fogs work. I thought they were on the same circuit as the high beams. Its been awhile since I looked at the lighting schematics, I guess I'll have to open them up again if I don't see anything obvious tonight.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys..
I am interested to know how this turns out. I have no high beams (no power at the bulbs), but my fogs work fine.
I have tried two different LKM's, one of which I resoldered all the connections. I also tried some spare relays I had laying around, but nothing.
Thanks Ross!
It was the lack of crash control module.
Also I think I fixed the reason the hazards were randomly going off when I resoldered all my wire terminations under the RM/GM last year. I guess I never plugged in the CCR to check things after my wiring repair.
I too replaced my CCM and now have high beams. Thanks!
So i am currently having this problem with my 535i and i checked all fuses all relays and everything. however when i try turning on the high beams, i hear a clicking noise but no highbeams. i get no error lights or anything. however my car was in a recent car accident but nothing major. any ideas?
Hello and welcome!
It's considered proper form to start a new thread when the last post was 7 years ago. But to answer your question: I'd first check wiring and loose or dirty contacts at the lights. Something might've severed or bonked loose during the accident.
so i had checked the wires for the headlights and they are all good. i have 2 new headlights, and all new bulbs so i know that can’t be the problem.
Hello, i have the exact same issue with an F10, can somebody point me to the direction where i can find the crash control module and how it looks like?
