    About to get an '08 X5 4.8

Sold the M3 when the last baby came and bought another LR Discovery for the seven seats it had. Should have known better as I had Discos in the past. Head gaskets went at 95k, radiator two months later, still chasing a water leak that consumes a pint a month. Anyway.......

Found a 50k CPO 2008 X5 at a local place that has cold weather, tech, premium and rear climate packages. We're at 36.5 and I think I have a bit more room to work.

Like the car alot, though the wife says she's still buying another MDX for herself With six kids we can always use the seats.

Anything to watch for in the 2008's? I guess with CPO I'm covered for another 50k

Will be happy to be back in a bimmer.

Deal done at $36' replace the missing iPod cable and the next oil change.

At least I'm not dumping $$$ into the Rover anymore.

Space gray on black, like the color!

nice buy jskibo you will enjoy it. I had an 2004 4.4 X5 and changed the oil at lube and tune every 15K miles with synthetic oil and got 230,000 miles out of her. the engine could go another lifetime. other stuff started to fail. also got 95,000 miles(highway) on each set of michelin non runflats. I like those colors too.

I spent an hour in it yesterday, dove it around town and out on the highway.

Like the growl of the 4.8! It seems to handle well, and we had a little snow here to play with. It's no M3, but it's a he'll of a lot better than the rover.

Third row seats are fine for our 9 and 12 year old girls, I wouldn't fit there. Rover and MDX had much better third row.

I have a week of figuring out all the buttons and knobs to come. Played with iDrive a bit with German rental cars, but never more than a few days.

Overall I'm happy with the purchase. Will pick it up on Monday and then leave it at the airport for fours days while I'm on a business trip.

    A note on CPO:
    you have 6 years - 100,000.\
    Six years from 'in-service' date.
on a 2008, production and service dates could be from as early as 9/2007, in which case you would have only a year and a half of CPO coverage remaining...

Yes, I checked it out before we signed, it's a 10/28/08 in service date.

Good point for anyone looking at CPO cars though!

    Liking it so far.

Too many buttons to learn, a bit different than my '95 M3

Just saw your post. I picked up a 2008 X5 4.8 Sport. LOVE THIS CAR! I have had it since June, and I am still thrilled to take a drive to work!
