Which power seat reclining gear to buy?

A while ago the back portion of my power seat stopped moving, so I removed the seat from the car and opened the seat gear box up to discover that one of the plastic gears had been chewed up. I removed all the remaining pieces of the chewed gear and manual put the seat into a comfortable position, then closed the gear box back up.

I now miss being able to adjust the back portion of my seat so I want to buy a new gear, but I don't remember which gear was the one that failed. I believe there were two gears in the gear box (one white and one green), which color gear is the gear that controls the back port of the seat? I believe one gear controls the portion of the seat that you sit on and the other gear controls the back portion, but I don't remember which is which.

Yeah that's a good idea because I actually also want to buy an extra seat bottom gear just in case that also decides to shred in the near future.

Yeah..each seat has a white gear and a green gear. The seats are already out of the car and disassembled. Removing the gears will be easy.

Danggit....erm no...the gears and seat frame have no relation.... you will feel total guilt and probably have a mental breakdown.... So you want to sell me one of those old useless seat frames for 10 bucks?

the gear units and the motor are not that expensive from BMW compared to a simple plastic gear

I just bought the white gear. I need to install it. Was 35 off eBay including shipping, Damn thing is the size of your fingertip.

Yeah that looks like the gearbox, I guess you already removed the 2 motors.

Well anyway just remove the the torx bolts that are holding the gearbox together and remove the 2 gears. The 2 plastic gears will be pressed onto threaded looking rods and if you try to pull them off the rods you will more then likely break the gears. Be careful or just sell it with the rod attached.

Ok I wont take off the gears. I'll try to get the whole box off the seat tomorrow. no one wants seat parts so let me know if you need anything. I have both seatbelt latches and all the motors. If you want anything let me know. I'll put together a package deal.

Well right now funds are kind of low so I will probably only buy one of the gears from you if you are willing to open up the box, but if you are willing to let the whole gear box go for fairly cheap then I may consider purchasing the entire thing.

But do you know if the recliner of the seat was actually functioning when the seat was installed in the car?
