well with 100+ outside my coolant system starts to fail apart
radiator leak , upper hose leak and more ...
Just another proof that our coolant system needs to be replaced with disregards how many miles our cars have ...
Ordered radiator from Autohaus and all the rest from ECSTuning ...
Here we go !!!

OMG!! Those pictures are soooo familiar... i just had an "oh sh1t" moment about a month ago that was just like that.... a friend brought over his car for me to replace some cooling system parts on his 525i E39 and as I was wrapping things up and bleeding the system that damn bleed screw broke!!! and this was on a sunday (no dealer parts places open) and he needed it 1st thing in the morning on Monday. in addition to that bleed screw breaking, his temp sensor O-ring in the lower hose was in compression set failure... fortunately, i found some viton O-rings at Pepboys that was the right size and took care of that. and then I realized I had some brand new E39 hoses in a box (for when I need to replace my cooling system) and took the bleed screw from that (i'm going to use the brass ones anyway)... but yeah, i really hate working on BMWs around plastic sh1t... you never know what's going to break along the way and if you don't have the parts handy or have a place to buy them same-day, you're sort of screwed...
BTW, instead of drilling, since it's plastic... you can cut a slot into the top of the screw stem and use a flat head screw driver to back it out... that way you don't get plastic shavings from drilling going down into the coolant reservoir.

Just saw this thread. Very Cool ! Really like the rear sun shade retrofit.
more info on your rain guards? Are they the 3m tape ones or are they the slip on ones?
if slip on, where did you get them and how much?

I am looking to do the same in adding the M-Audio subwoofers. I've heard the parcel shelf has the outline for the 10" subs so it's basically plug and play for a DSP system. Can you tell me about any modifications needed to the parcel shelf?
RD Sport Custom ECU Tuning, B&M Short Shifter, Zionsville Autosport Cooling Kit, Ground Control Camber Plates, KW Variant 3 Coil-Overs, Dinan Sway Bars, M5 Driveshaft, Half-shafts and Diff (Diff is Modified by Jim Blanton [3:62 Gearing and Additional Friction Disc]), JB Racing Flywheel, Sachs 4-Puck Clutch, CRV Delete, Superspint Headers, Race Cats, Resonator Delete, Sport Silencer, Aero Exhaust Resonator, M-Technik Rear Apron, Jim Conforti CAI, StopTech Sport Trophy BBK (F: ST-60, R: ST-40), Forgeline Competition ZX3R Wheels (F: 18x9, 19mm, R: 18x10, 25mm), M5 Wheel Liners.
Plug and play
This why I like OEM setup

With this global warming we soon will need only summer tires
I have Continental ExtremeContact DWS now and i am not happy with them
IN compare to summer Continental DW the drive is harsh and cheap , i am going to replace them with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus

I recently purchased a set of the Pilot Sport A/S Plus for my wife's E46, but have no winter experience with them. These will be paired with Dunlop Graspic DS-3s for the worse part of the winter.

Does anyone know if michelin makes a 17 inch premium tire, suitable for a 2001 BMW 540iA Sport, with the staggered wheels? (Namely 235x45x17 and 255x40x17). I am currently using sticky Dunlop Summer tires.
