Igor, there are some good quality aluminium WP pulleys. I think Autohaus have them for cheap. I have the UD pulleys from TM. Happy. Better than the composite (read plastic) pieces of OEM cr*p.

I have the same pulleys on another car ( 20k miles counted )
They are OEM INA pulleys made in Slovenia, my dealer sales the same staff
You right about Autohaus , it sales a lot of crap as well as OEM staff , this one is OEM and i hope will last another 50k
Post a link where you got your's

Installed Schumacher Fully Automatic Onboard Battery Charger to keep my battery alive

Educate me: what does the Schumacher gizmo do? How does it work? Do you plug it in when you garage the car overnight?
OK, went on line and checked it. Same as a trickle charger.
So you don't drive the car every day (like me)?

i plug it in only overnight once in a week in winter time or when i have a long trips ( 2-3 weeks or more )
And i do drive my cars daily and have same charger on both cars
The good think about it , - it is Automatic , connect and forget
When battery is fully charged it works in sleep mode , when voltage drop in charge mode and so on ( trickle charger )

what is your concern bro ?
i am using it already second winter , no issue so far
this is not a charger to charge/start a dead battery but to keep a weak battery fully charged
When i need to charge battery fast or to code my car I use THIS charger

Russian Comrade,
Thank you. I just installed new mechanical tensioner, deflector and belt because I had the famous chirp-chip noise. Guess what, I still have chirp-chirp. It goes away sometimes, after engine warms up. It IS the mechanical tensioner. Now I know my suspicion is correct, that it's metal base is resonating. I will remove the mechanical tensioner and apply some high-temp brake caliper grease to the back of it. I am not installing the hydraulic tensioner...I think $0.01 of special grease will inhibit the birdy chirp-chirp.
Best regards,
Lord Fiver

You are the E39 flagman hehe
I wanted to replace just couple of suspensions parts but ended up with THIS
Koni Yellows are going in with Sport springs + all front / rear suspension + all bushings + all bearings and much more
Winter project ...

Jesus...champaign777 has come from nowhere, and just crushed this entire DIY forum.
Seems like he's taken the whole damn car apart inside of 1 month.
Who is this guy !?! He's done more DIY in 1 month than most so in a lifetime.

E39 DIYs done: Wipers, O2 sensors , MAF , Upper/Lower Intake Boots , FSU , ABS module fix , Power Steering Reservoir , Changed Rear Differential Oil , DISA , SAP, Vacuum lines , Radar Detector Hardwire , Fuel Filter , LED Angel Eyes , Headlight Adjusters--> [1],[2], [3] , Headlight Polishing, Punted: Fan Clutch/Tensioner/Pulleys , Oil cap O-rings , Window regulator ,Crumbling Cowl
I was thinking the same thing.
Igor you make me feel like I have completely neglected my 530. You have done more in the last few weeks than I have in the last year.
It's all worth it though. Keep it up.

hehe
I really didn't want to do all this suspension mess on 75k miles but i found out that 2-3 front suspension parts already weak so i need to replace them anyhow
Now you only need to start and then you think ,- what the hell , my struts are weak as well , so lets do it ALL and NOW ( winter time right ?? )
In reality it doesn't take more than 8-10h in a week if you know how to do it
This guy is really TOUGH to get open , you need a long Breaker Bar from Harbor Freight
I am sure bearings are excellent and they can last another 30-50k miles but i hate to open it all again and don't want to touch
any suspension parts at all in near future
I wonder that i have an old style bearings with nut on the top for 2003 car

Here is my FIRST observation about Koni Yellow vs OEM Sachs Sport ( not installed yet )
Koni Yellow looks like a cheap toy from Toysrus
Sachs Sport is all unfinished aluminum even plate where Koni is painted steel ( ? ) with some cheap chrome plate
Sachs Sport has very clear R - L marks on the top where Koni Yellow has some arrow R - L marks
on the bottom ( what the hell ? )
And the last - Sachs Sport chrome shaft is more solid 25MM where Koni Yellow chrome shaft is only 22MM
Now I really want to believe that these aftermarket Koni Yellow struts ride better than OEM Sachs Sport
( well , this is what many folks say )

what about the weight of the Sachs sports vs Koni.....
I help a friend here in Panama to replace his current Sachs OEM Sports for a new ones (again, Sachs OEM Sports), and they are very light!!!!
but I don't understand your question about quality between Koni and Sachs, you don't have already the Koni in your other e39?
