This is by far the craziest build I've seen! I vote this as my favorite Bimmer lol.

Mind that the M73 that is found in later 750i version also has higher compression, 10:1 vs 8.8:1, but has higher displacement of 5.4 vs 5.0..
If you start boosting it, don't go too far with it, say up to 0.5-.6 bar max on pump gas.

For now, I'm just after the "I Got a V12 In My Z3" bragging right, lol. I'll be plenty happy with 326hp (I think). Did you have any problem clearing the steering rack. Was your OEM oil pump mod for that reason? Can I see some picture of that? Any tips and advice that you'd share would be greatly appreciated, as I'm just a Honda tech with a cut-off saw and a welder that recently got bitten by a BMW bug...

    LOL...
The best option would be a dry sump system with a remote oil tank in the boot, this is what Im planning as one of the upcoming mods. I did indeed have a problem with clearance with a steering rack. You can just use spacers to drop the cross member a little in order to clear the engine on top and down at the bottom. The oil pan I modified in order to increase volume by adding 3" pipe cutting it in the middle adding to the front bottom side of the stock sump.. welding all together the mod gave me extra liter of oil volume as I had to drop my oil level to simplify oil return from turbos.
But as I said, all this can be greatly overcome by simply converting to dry sump.
Currently looking for a four stage pump.. It will go in place of A/C compressor.
