Another E36 M3 LS Swap - Cruise Control Question, and general trouble shooting post

Hello folks,

I had a build thread on M3forum... but it has gone poof.

I recently completed an ls1-t56 swap in my E36 M3 coupe.
Just had my first ax a few weeks ago, and it is a fun project car.

Quick question - My factory bmw cruise control works in 5th gear and 4th gear...... BUT not in 6th gear.
I thought is was a t56 .5 OD to 3.23 m3 rear gear issue messing with the DME..... so just swapped in 3.91 gears.

And still same issue.... CC only works in 4th and 5th, but not 6th gear.
I tried it @ 60mph and 80mph 2000rpm.

I believe I can barely feel it try to kick-in then drop out.



Do I need to trick or attenuate one of the cc ecu inputs to make it work with my .5 OD?

BTW - this car REALLY woke up with the 3.91 gears!

That sucks. I'm sorry, I cannot help your problem, but just popping in to say that I used a GM cruise control from a Silverado. If worst comes to worst, you could do that. https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...3#post30307183

This was w 3.23 gears not optimal running entire course in 1st gear

3.91 really woke this heap up

I was referring to what you said at the 2:07 mark of the video. It sounded like you said "I got a DNF" right before shutting off the camera. But it looked like a clean run to me!

Yeah the track was a bit busy... no dnf
