This car runs and drives excellent. No check engine lights, the check system control works perfectly. Very few dead pixels on the dash (a very common problem on the e39). Being fourteen years old, I'd consider this car to be in excellent condition throughout. Small dings, scratches and imperfections should be accounted for, as with any fourteen year old car. Hand washed & waxed with premium products regularly. The suspension and steering systems are tight, the engine runs pulls strong, and the transmission shifts seamlessly.

It was originally purchased new at Rasmussen BMW in Portland. The previous owner purchased the car certified pre-owned at Rasmussen in 2001 and had owned it for the past ten years.
The car has been garaged the majority of its life and the paint really shows.
All stock with the exception of Bavarian Autosport (www.bavauto.com) E39 specific car cover, BavAuto license plate frames & cross drilled front brake rotors.

Tires are matching, quality Yokohama's on the original three piece 17x8 Style 19's (BBS) with plenty of tread
I have a thick stack of maintenance records & have saved all my receipts in my time of ownership. Pre purchase inspections are welcomed - no surprises. I just had a synthetic oil change performed at Pacific Motorsports (1/9/12).
This is a wonderful car & one of the fastest BMW's of the '90's with a 0-60mph time of 5.6 seconds.

It pains me to sell the car as I searched for over six months to find a correct, well sorted E39. I have landed a new career that includes a company car so I no longer have a need for the 540i.

Recent maintenance includes valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, air & charcoal cabin filters, complete overhaul of the cooling system and more.

I just got 23mpg this past weekend on a 400 mile trip up to Seattle & back. Most tanks I get 18-20 with a mix of city & highway driving on Premium 92 octane.

I'm looking to sell it locally unless a buyer arranges everything to have it shipped. I don't have the time to deliver it myself all the way to Texas.
