I have a '99 528i with xenon that I upgraded to '01-'03 Hella Angel eye xenon lights. My question is am I able to just have the AE's on and daytime running lights off when I have my switch in the parking light position? Can't seem to find the exact info. Any help?
Thx.
Currently, both are on, AE's and DRL, when the switch is in the parking light position.....

if you have the DRL's working, i believe you will need to wire the AE's directly to your DRL's.
i just had my tech turn off my DRL's and currently the only way my AE's come on is having the light switch to the park position. however, i am doing a suspension refresh on my '02 530i this week and i am going to ask my tech to rewire the AE's to the 12v live wire of the DRL's. We'll see how it goes....
my 99' didnt have a standard drl on so I custom wired me Angels to the the fuse box in my engine bay. Only turn on w/ car now.

I make signatures, just ask
That's what I did. Umnitza AEs as DRL.
In the electrical box under the passenger's side interior air filter one of the lines (green/white I think) in one of the plugs closest to the fender is a 12V/ignition on signal.
I use that as the signal wire for my AEs and one of two for my electric radiator fan.
Sorry, no pic of that one but if you search for the Zionsville install DIY page there will be a pic of that electric box.
I'm familiar with the electrical box. Are you certain it is a green and white wire?
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it was on mine, but poke around with your multimeter and find a wire that's 12V when the ignition is on.
