Thanks, I'll look into a BOV. I'm speaking with a place that makes hoses for trucks that is local to me to see if they can do a one off set.
There's very little support for supercharged E34's over here so there's next to no parts available. I quite like the look of the VF hose kit.
This site is great for V8 owners, loads of information.
So I finally got a situation of no rain and semi wet pavement, which allowed the testing of Dan's initial tune. It idled good and driveability is much better. The 60 injectors are working fine. Since we did not get to drive it when he was here, Dan was not able to set topend fuel demands so it goes lean around 5000ish. Or when you pull boost mostly 3rd gear, up. At least it is improving and I need new tires already, chunked the r888 driver rear today. Heard it start flapping after some launches today, new ones have already been ordered. So I can live with the tune for now, and the rain.

You guys make me want to put a blower on my e34... if I only had a few thousand to burn
how difficult was the m62 swap? I'm seriously looking in to it.
Performance Tuning and EWS Delete for MSS52/MSS54/MSS54HP/MS41/MS42/MS43/ME7.2/M5.2
Virgnize DME service available to unlock DME to sync to another vehicle on EWS3 vehicles 98+. M5.2.1, M7.2, MS42, MS43, MS45, ME9.2 and more.
Easiest way to contact me is to send me a message on my facebook page "DUDMD Tuning"
it'll be going in a 525i, but i'll make it fit
Well considering all involved in the swap, it wasn't horrible, BUT, not a walk in the park. Then I had the great idea of the S/C and it hasn't gotten easier. A few times I thought of just taking it off and driving N/A again. BUT, it is fun and I will make it run better. The swap itself is not horrid tho, I would pretty much replace ALL the drivetrain at once and make it a 6speed, etc. the diff and all.... Because once you have gone that far, you will want to have it all done so as to be driving it, instead of head scratching wrenching. I am pretty much done for now on the build other than simple things like tuning/intake stuff, interior and whatnot. I have a great, rust free car that drives excellent and runs, it just doesn't run right.
More power to you and then maybe some
how much boost do you guys think a stock m60 can take before it starts needing internal mods?
found a site here with some nice supercharger upgrades
http://www.superchargerupgrades.com/
Sweet thread guys. I'm planning on getting a blower for my car, too.
Seems like VF is better to go with than ESS. It just seems way too expensive. I found the supercharger itself online for like 2500. That means you're paying like 3-4k for mounting brackets, 8 injectors, an eprom and plumbing...ehhhh
1989 BMW 750iL (prod 08/88) (vin: 2768675)
Gone but not forgotten: 1994 BMW 740iL (prod 10/11/1993) (vin: *DE89667) 6spd swap, 2001 BMW 740i Sport
There's a kit with the new(er) v3 blower for sale in the forced induction classifieds for $3500.
I don't know from personal experience but from what I've read the generally accepted levels are 9+ psi requires intercooling, 11-12psi is about the limit on a stock motor. That could be completely false or it could be accurate... that's what I've read and unfortunately there isn't a ton of information out there on blown m60's.

through some digging, i found out the dinan kit uses 2002tii parts for the reservoir relocation. the used kit i bought didn't come with it but i have parts on order from getbmwparts. for the level sensor wire, i just looped a wire on the harness. the tank is installed on the right shock tower and it requires drilling 2 holes to bolt in the bracket. i deleted my headlight intensive clean so the small 2002 tank should be sufficient. but apparently there is another same sized double the price 2002 tank that has 2 fittings/nozzle on the bottom instead of just 1 so that it is possible to still run intensive clean. the one i bought only has one outlet on the bottom.
41-14-1-803-549 bracket $3.01
61-66-1-350-871 tank $71.82
61-66-7-264-145 cap $3.22

perfect man thanks for the info. thats a spensive bottle. time to find a small intensive guy at the junker
edit: there a pump there?

you can reuse your existing pump. pump does not mount inside bottle. it goes bottle, hose, pump, hose, washer jets.
That is some good info. I instead went and used an old mini keg from Widmer Beer. I located it into my trunk and ran silicone tubing to the front that provides the washer fluid. The pump is mounted remotely with a silicone clunk line inside the mini to provide the juice. It also acts as a back up for my alcohol injection tank if I run low, which has happened....
The engine compartment is less cluttered that way and the keg looks tuff in the back.
Just my idea on this situation.

Do the brackets for an e39 540i work on the e34? I may have spotted a cheap e39 setup if it works without much modification. Obviously I'd have to figure out a tune after the fact.
Also, I read this thread because I'm jealous. I love and hate all of you.
haha. the e39 does in fact fit, e34nication is running an e39 "kit"

Correct... Be prepared to "massage" your passenger wheel well though... And by "massage" I mean "beat the holy piss out of with a hammer".

hey guys. just wondering if you know of a solution to get the average fuel economy in the obc to read correctly. mine is constantly at 10.6L/100km or 22mpg. totally incorrect. my realistic average is around 15L/100km or 15.5mpg. i played with the correction factor and cranked it to max. apparently it doesn't go higher than 1249. I need it to go up to around 1600 to display my actual. is there a way to hack it to show the correct values?
I wish I knew an answer to that^. Mine stays pegged when I hammer down and I know it is no better than 10mpg right now, if I am lucky. I figure it just makes me forget about fuel costs and enjoy the ride, that is the reason why I own it in the first place.
A Driving Machine.
On a side note, got my Miller MAF mount today and am working on getting the tubing setup for the blow thru Miller sensor, all welded up "my roomate rocks it". In a couple of weeks, just will be making major improvements. Until then it has been sitting, saving me gas money.
i looked a long while before buying my crank pulley straight from dinan. if its a dinan kit, youll need the dinan crank pulley. its diameter and offset is meant to line up with a charger on that specific bracket. dinan gets about 200 shipped for their pulley. im running their e39 pulley.
and as you can tell, the tune isnt easy to accomplish. im still fighting with mine tossing belts or id be tuning it these days.
haha yup, nothing like taking your anger out on that fender.
call dinan and ask. theyll most likely sell you waht you need to correct it. i know its some sort of resistor that goes inline with the obc. it basically scales the signal back to what the stock injectors would send to the obc. ive seen a picture of it somewhere, looks exactly like the maf resistor pack.
on another note, i replaced my coolant temp sensor. which i dont think was ever replaced in the 200k my engines been alive. runs a lot smoother now, the idle is better, and it stopped starting like crap when warm. 15 bucks. win. that should help the tuning process go a bit better
