Ahenry had a good suggestion. Seems like there are quite a few of us on here these days. Might as well get a thread to learn about everyone's set-up's and issues you might be having.
I'll start:
Car: 95 540/6
Engine: stock m60
Supercharger kit or custom: ESS
Blower model: v2sq
Tune: ESS (404 DME, pin 66 cut)
Injectors: 40#
MAF: Porsche 803 w/ no resistors
Intercooling: none
Boost level: 7lbs (per ESS... Never verified)
Diff: 3.15lsd
Issues: not enough power
Dyno: none yet
1/4 mile: 12.7 @109 (112 high trap)
Any other categories we should have?
Updated with a couple of pics:

That's great idea. Are you on the stock clutch still?

I am. Stock with a JBR flywheel. Clutch has about 40k on it... About 6k with the sc I think.

awesome thread is awesome.
Car: 94 530it with b40/6spd
Engine: stock m60
Supercharger kit or custom: custom
Blower model: v2
Tune: miller base
Injectors: 32# lucas
MAF: stock with resistor (audio potentiometer for now, till i get it dialed)
Intercooling: small little guy, but he does help. can definitely notice it on cold nights.
Boost level: ~8psi im guessing
Diff: 3.23lsd medium case
clutch: stock, holding for now.
Issues: a bunch, see below
Dyno: none
1/4 mile: none
I DD this car about 50 miles a day so it needs to be reliable.
crappy shot of the intercooler. the pipes need to be repainted too.
fastish but im not happy with the tune yet, but she pulls great. i have all tune related issues i believe. runs okay on the base tune, but im messing with the resistance since miller tuned a dinan s/c car. since my setup is different than a powerdyne with no DV, no intercooler, and less boost, its got its issues. running less than specified resistance, and getting MAF maxing out around 5500rpm. the more i add to resistance, the worse the starting gets, and the worse it idles, but the higher i can get in the RPM before it starts stumbling. next, when it drops to idle, itll go rich for a couple seconds, then full lean and idle like doodoo, then if i pedal it or wait another couple seconds it corrects. happens every time. (the most annoying issue). next, when in decel on the back of a gear, it wont go full lean on the gage, its reading like it does at idle, and i can feel it not engine braking like it should. most likley related to my idle issue.
id like to be rid of the maf resistor all together (brody and i talked about this and im awaiting response now). going to work on the tune this weekend with mr mikeday. as well as install my ksports!
edit: also, per my autometer boost gage, im only seeing maybe 10-15 inHG of vacuum. not sure whats up with that.
EDIT#2: most tuning issues caused by changing the maf resistance and NOT reseting the dme. once i figured that bit out, i got it to run pretty decent at the correct resistance for the tune (3.57k Ohm).

Ahenry: my car goes full lean on decel and will then "clear" with a little backfire... I'm sure it's in my tune and could be related to the fact that the tune was for an automatic car. Plan on adding some form of Intercooling, swapping to a smaller pulley (which I already have) and getting a custom tune this year if ridiculous expenses will stop popping up.

it should be going full lean, then when you put your foot into the clutch it should go to idle no questions asked. rich means its seeing a bunch of airflow it doesnt know what to do with, and isnt registering that its at full closed position on the TPS (gonna swap this tomorrow). i dunno, need to tinker. my idle has always, since i put this stupid nikasil engine in, never ever been smooth at 600. gonna bump it to 650 and see if some issues go away with the idle lean issue, now that ive got the software working right.

Clutch in my car goes straight to idle and idles smoothly. My car never goes full rich. I'll check and see at what rpm's it's idling.
From about 3:00-3:20 you can hear what I'm talking about (decel in gear). Sorry for the crappy video... Had just gotten the gopros and didn't have editing software.

I hope its the rig making all that noise, not your e34...
Interesting, your exhaust sounded a lot better in your other videos compared to this one. Was the exhaust system still cold in the video?
P.S. Awesome thread idea
I think it was the lens protector making that noise If I had to guess, that exhaust sounded gurthyOriginally Posted by BruinBimmer

I have quite a few problems but soon to be installed are 60 injectors and new air cleaner setup. Intercooler is being figured and maybe problems will get easier to manage. The goal is to daily drive 40+ miles a day and build 500 whp. Though I will never stop......
I just turned 150,000 miles on the body today and have put less than 3000 miles on the engine and chassis since initial build.
That kind of covers it.

Car: 95 540i6 Canadian Spec
Engine: stock original nikasil m60
Supercharger kit or custom: Dinan
Blower model: powerdyne
Tune: Dinan SC tune from a 484 DME transplanted to a 404 DME
Injectors: #30 stock Dinan
MAF: Stock with Dinan resistor
Intercooling: None
Boost level: 5-6psi as per shitty boost gauge
Diff: 3.15 LSD
Clutch: stock
Exhaust: stock and falling apart
Issues: Some stumbling and hesitation at full throttle
Dyno: Not Yet
Working well:
Idle is fairly consistent at around 600
Idle vacuum at 20
No CEL
Overall seems to be running well though I have nothing else locally to compare to
Fuel economy seems to have improved according to km per tank when driven conservatively
Needs to be addressed:
always pending but no CEL dme code
get a afr reading
get a proper tune for cat delete exhaust system
get a proper exhaust to replace the current one which is falling apart
zionsville rad
obc fuel economy completely wrong
power seems to come way too late, feels like turbo lag at times
doesn't hit 5psi until around 5k. not sure if that is normal.

id say that boost is normal. then my the time you get to redline your seeing 6-7ish? the oncome of power is partly just the characteristics of a centrifigal. look up their hp/tq curve charts. youll see what i mean.
obc fuel economy can be adjusted slightly as im told. but im not sure it can compensate for 6-7mpg difference. it measures fuel economy from injector pulse width, among other things (i think). since a 32lber has to stay open less time to inject the same amount of fuel a stock injector does (under cruise and idle), viola! good gas mileage per OBC. dinan sold a resistor pack to correct this, but i havent found info to make my own yet.

Woah Wait! no pics?????
Thats what is missing!
haha i have zero good ones at the moment. will have to grab some tonight after swapping my new belt on (and redoing my routing, as to get rid of belt slip)

Added pics but not really any of exhaust. Tho I did edit post and clarified it is dual 3" into one Magnaflow, my bad.
Luxury clutch has a very light/easy feel to it that can hold good HP in my car or so I was told by the guy who did the install. It feels like no clutch pedal next to my '90 535i stock clutch in the black car. So far so swell....and that is what I know.
I really dislike the design of the piping from the sc to the tb on the ESS unit. I think I'm going to pick up one of the VF designed pieces.

mhm, a friend of mine has this on his turbo m50. thats the only tial i know. if thats the case, im curious how he fenagled that into his tune. i feel like they might come in recirc config as well....
edit: like so

but from his pic it looks like atmospheric.
updating mine with pics now. wasnt proud of the original done ones. these are okay.

i see the vf and ess kits all have bov. even the dinan kit in some older brochures shows it as well. however, mine does not have it and the installation manual does not even mention it. is it necessary?
