I haven't owned the vehicle for very long but from the dash reading I'm averaging between 17.5 and 19.8

I haven't reset the computer in a few months, but it generally winds up reading 15.2-15.5. Just about all my driving is in town, so it's not all that surprising. Generally gets about 25 to 27 on the highway.

About 20 MPH with my normal driving. Freeway only is consistently around 27, but I have a six speed manual so......

I'm getting about 15 around town and 26 on the highway. I just drove from Orlando to NYC and got 26.2

Interesting. Before my pixel fix I paid no attention as my commute was short. Now I see 13+/- avg mpg but 620 miles range on a full tank (equivalent to a 51+ gallon tank). Something is not adding up!

I get around 18 city, but if I do a lot more highway I get in the 22's. The best I got was 27 on a longer trip.

I think going fast (80+) gets better miles on the highway than going 65. Can anyone concur?

I think I agree with you. These cars love the open road.

No. Although mine has the DINAN software and a 3.15 Diff.

Normal 80 mph drive, I get about 25 mpg. Today followed my kids school bus to a competition and drove on open highway from 45-60 mph (in excruciating pain), but the car got 26 mpg. Is that significant...no, but they do get slightly better mileage at more reasonable speeds. If you really need the extra 1 mpg, knock yourself out, I'm moving on.

My average mpg (60/40 highway/in town, but not a busy city) is 20-20.5 mpg

My older 740iL did not get this good of mileage, and the DINAN, even with a 3.15 differential does very well. I do use Liqui-Moly MoS2 additive in my oil and others swear it increases gas mileage. That may be why. I've never done an actual test to see.

My computer and actual calculations are about .5 to 1 MPG off. (computer is high). I was getting about 18-19 mixed, it's now about 20-21 since I moved and drive more highway.

For being a V8, and as big and heavy as the IL is, I'm pretty happy. (my V10 F250 gets 10 MPH.. up hill, down hill, highway, city, off a cliff.... so I'm really VERY happy! LOL)

50 mile round trip to work, mostly highway @ 65 mph, comp gets 22.4. Hand calcs at 22.1
4 hour freeway road trip I get better than 25. Running gear is bone stock, 178K miles.

I am burning 93 octane ethanol-free gas, picked up a mile or so from average when I switched
from 89 octane ethanol-free. Performance (butt-dyno) is significantly better. Didn't think it would
make a difference, but it can be felt.

A lot of the numbers are posted by people in the US, so I'd expect US gallons.

On the highway, my '98 740iL would get 28-30 mpg at 70 mph. It did the 600 mile round trip to CT and back from here on one tank of gas (20 gallons). My '01 Short Sport got 24 in the same situation. On the commute, however, the Sport got 14 mpg and the '98 got slightly better at 16.

24 - 25 mpg at 75-ish mph is about right for my short sport. I'm going to do some testing on a clutch fan delete / electric fan conversion, so we'll see if that yields any measurable gains.
