    different lock issue 95 525i

Locking with the key works fine.

However use the key or remote to UNLOCK the car and the following happens. "unlock then lock, unlock then lock" Only way to get in car is to pull door handle while opening door. Need to fix as it might lock me in the car.

Did not see this one in the archives!
    Thanks,
    Russell

Yes. If you mean the passenger door tech. Is there another type of sync?

Thanks, but the 525i uses a different locking system than the 540i. My remote locking is not integrated into the key.
    Thanks,

I assumed so because mine is. My bad. Have you taken the chip out of the key fob, placed it in the alarm slot under the rear seat and done the ignition to position 2 thing?

Nope because both of my keys/remotes lock the car fine. it is just the car unlocking seem to be a bit wonky. Not even sure how to approach the problem. Bentley is of limited help.
    Thanks,
    Russell

Thats not a problem with the locks, it must be a problem with the keyless entry. If its OE locks I think the module is under the rear seat. You might just find a blown fuse or something strange. Hopefully its not a problem with the module itself.

Thanks, OE locks. I checked the fuses. They looked fine. I have been told it could be the trunk lock, specifically the way it is locked via the key. It could be out of sync. I will experiment with how it is manually locked and see if there is any impact on my locking issue.

There is often a simple soulution to what seems to be a complex problem.
    Thanks,
    Russell
