Got the safety inspection completed today and all is good to renew the plates on Monday.
Felt comfortable enough to get it out of my neighborhood and it received its very first fill of 93 Super. Almost unreal how quickly time passes in that I've owned this car for close to 5 years and never ever put gas in it at a station.
Anyway, took some pics while out cruising.
Yes, the wait and all the sweat equity were worth it.
Still debating on which covers to run... Turbines

Cleaned
The plates are visible when you drive down the road.
IMG_6167.jpg I painted the chrome trim BMW burgundy. Should have made it semi gloss (damn haha). It looked better in my head. I think i'll keep it chrome to match newly polished bumpers
This happened in my driveway today. Helped an E30 newbie with some cluster issues and some general advice.

WTF did u doooo
The car has some history to her...
Some jackass trying to make money on her. he had it down in florida and sent her through auction with original color (I think it was white with blue roof and interior) and then once it was sold, he took his spare key and stole it from the purchaser at the auction. no realizing how stupid he was he resprayed the car candy red and kept the roof and interior same color. Which of course that was never a factory color option, so, he sent the car back through the auction with a different VIN plate on the dash. Guess who was there... An awesome police officer who knew his BMW's. He sees this come through the line and was like "this isn't right!" So he had the car pulled from the auction and did a quick investigation to fin that one of the other VIN plates didn't match the one on the dash, and the other VIN plate came up stolen. Thank you Florida for saving this one, because the officer found this, he was allowed to keep it, and he got a Florida assigned VIN for the car therefore making the car registerable. Thank you again Mr. Cop, because although when I go to repaint this in a month or so, I have to be super duper careful of my assigned VIN sticker in the door jamb, he saved this car from being turned into your moms disgusting new sonata.
Anyways, I have made my decision, and due to my recent loss (02' mini cooper), may she rest in peace, I will be honoring her by painting this E30 Chili Red and putting my win small stickers on this car. Just a silent memorial to my poor beloved Mini...
