    2003 530i w/ 121,000+ miles. (purchased w/ 45k in '06)

    No problems. Until now.
Just completed front brakes; rear rotors frozen to hub (car was in NY 2yr, then west coast) - so that will allow me new rear hubs (but think bearings making a rumbling noise anyway).
Told by indep in PHX needs rear ball joints; he replaced thrust arm bushings.
Ordered parts for Alt overhaul - it's chirpping.
Tranny getting sloppy (manual) on shifter, probably needs bushings?
Front underbody plastic crap all broken and ghetto, esp left front wheel well.
Have .7A steady state current draw, not a good thing. No idea where.
Last monday got Check Coolant Level msg; add ~1.5L of coolant. WTF??!
3 yrs ago blew open side of expansion resevoir - Did you know that you can use billy Mays' wonder putty to seal that?! Held for 75 miles! (Makes me afraid of radiator now.)

Probably have VANOS problem; no stalling, but 75mph-mpg down to less than 30; often 28. Need valve cover gasket anyway. Possibly Oil Filter housing gasket may be leaking. Will know when I pull off Alt.
Time for plugs anyway. Have seen threads re: timing chain tensioner, need to check into that. Better replace fuel filter whilest I'm at it.
And now have road noise in R rear door vent window; some A*hole tried to break it out in PHX last summer. Replacement not sealing well. Worth replacing car? Probly not.

Oh, and the sun roof doesn't tilt, rather rattles. Could take to stealer, but he wanted $2400 for my shocks (4 yrs ago). Pack sand. Put on a set of Bilsteins.
And the dang MID lights are about 1/2 gone. THAT's annoying.

Even toyotas need maintenance. (Ask my 4runner.)

250K. No problems today. Did have to replace the plastic timing chain guides which was probably the my biggest problem. Everything else is expected with that many miles

My car just turned over 250,000mi this weekend, actually on the 31st. 1997 538iA. Build date 09/96. I replaced the engine at 226k due to a head gasket leak. Could have been fixed but I didn't feel like messing with all the timing/vanos. "New" engine had around 100k on it when I purchased it. Installed by my uncle and I. The slushbox is original. I've owed the car since around 180k. All normal maintenance items have failed more than once. It actually needs quite a few things replaced at the moment. Hood release cable broke at the handle last week. The week before that, some unknown road debri destroyed the passenger fog light. And after checking the car today, I'm pretty sure the u-joint in the prop shaft is toast. I guess with over 250k on the clock, I can't complain.

The new NPG+ is made for the street and is less flammable than the old/racing stuff. Heck, even 100% ethylene glycol is flammable with the right conditions.

only thing I need to do is replace all power steering lines, trans mount, draglink, and maybe rear wheel bearings. Theres quite of few interiors items that need attention. I've redone all other steering components, full suspension, cooling system, intake gaskets, and vac. lines.
I would love to fully restore my baby to showroom condition one day. Just redo the whole car, but a few secret additions.

163K miles. No work done on the car in over a year and 30K miles. Just a clean, daily driven e39.

    2003 540i M-Sport 6 speed with 183k.

Purchased in 2008 at 129k and I've spent very little in maintenance/repairs:
    Alternator
    Battery
    Upper radiator hose
    Final Stage Unit
    Pads and rotors
1 front caliper that locked up

It's currently having the clutch replaced. It's been slipping for over 20k miles but I've babied it and she just kept hanging on.

Just turned the clock on 156,000.

    Recent repairs:
Replaced center link and outer tie rods
Replaced radiator bleeder screw that deteriorated/broke apart in its hole and needed to be extracted.... Stupid.
    New tires
New drive shaft guibo... Not sure, I think I need to replace the whole thing still due to vibration.
    Changed the oil
Cleaned off the engine compartment of any leaking oil...I think my cam seals are leaking.... It drips right onto my headgaskets.... Which initially horrified me before I looked above them. The bottom of the bell housing was cover too. My rear main seal is dumping oil but I don't need a clutch yet.... Just seeing how long I can go on that one :/

156,000 on my clutch, anyone have a timeframe? The last car I drove needed it at 89k it was a 96 Nissan maxima I know you can't say really, but I feel like it's coming up....
