Hi guys
After reading a story here where a guy has over 400,000 km on his 540i it has me thinking just how many of us members have 120,000 plus miles or 200,000 plus km on there E39.
Please post up a picture of your car with its model engine and a brief history of problems and make sure you let us know if it's auto or manual.

Many of us are breaking the 120,000 mark easily considering these cars are 10+ years old.

Valve cover gaskets
Water pump
Power steering pump (the common broken mount issue)
Auxiliary water pump (internal magnet wore out)
Just turned 120k on a trip down to Beantown this month.
Running like a champ.

Mechanically sound..for now. Except the repainted side of the car is fading.
The tranny is still good after all these years... cooling system is sound.
Last repair: Front Bushings + rotors / pads
It's been a good car, excluding the cooling system failures. I just know stuff is gona start failing in time.
When these cars are working flawlessly, they're planning something..

Replaced - Alternator, oil pump, passenger side vanos/solenoid, Valve cover/timing cover & solonoid gaskets, power steering pump, final stage resistor.

Cooling system at 153K (split heater hose and a couple of weeks later a radiator hose sheared off at the inlet - better do the whole thing, right?)

2000 540iA with 155k on the clock...flushed the trans fluid three times at around 110k after some rough shifting and it totally solved the problem, even though many advised against it.

It's quickly approaching time for a new suspension but this is the original. I think that's all but not so bad considering the nature of these beasts. Oh yeah, I don't baby her either...my middle name should be "lead foot flashing DSC dude". :-P

EDIT: ***Fixed my "butt"...
EDIT2: Recently replaced front struts, front lower control arms and rear front upper control arms. Also received INPA error 115, failed MAF/HFM5, which turned the SES off and ended my stall when stopping issue as well as the very hard starts when warm. The 5'er is operating as it should, flawlessly (well, almost). I still have to tackle the braking system...

I still own an e30, but life has picked up speed and I no longer frequent this forum or own my e39. Thanks for 7 years of help everyone!
Just turned 144K and runs flawless. Still in love with the ride.
