OP, nice job on a beautiful car.

Did you ever manage to slap on the front splitter? It could be a PITA if you don't have the pre-drilled bumper support.

From my understanding it makes 3rd feel like 2nd, 4th feel like 3rd, and 5th feel like 4th. Maybe someone else can give you a more detailed description though

Makes sense, almost like the 4.10, or even the 4.45 final gear will do for the E46 M3.

I have a Blanton 40% 3.64 diff. in my Euro motor, 6spd, E36. It really pulls the RPMs into a more accessible band, especially 3-4 gear at smaller tracks. On the back straight at WGI, I could grab 6th if I wanted to deal with shifting back down to 3rd for the bus stop.

Sixth gear makes it all good. I can cruise at 75 at below 3k rpms.

Just read through your whole thread. Nice job on the car! A lot of inspiration here. I'm going to look into the E31 calipers for my car. Can you do the same for the back? And would it be using e46 m3 disks for the rear too?

Thanks for the comments guys, i'm looking forward to the 3.64 diff .... Jamie I had changed to a shielded Dave F since then.

Not sure on the back brakes, I would like some larger rears too (purely for show lol)

Just a small update, haven't put any photos up in a while (I'll throw up some random ones).

I parked the m3 up for the whole of Feb and March, I'll be starting driving it again this week

Some more wiring done a while back for the steering wheel controls

Lumbar support ...... another thing I now want

Some pics of the brembo 4 pots (using e46 m3 discs), while I was fitting the mudflaps (only done one so far  )

    New Plug Cover

Dave F kit . . . .since removed and replaced with the standard airbox

I bought another rear sunblind, this one with the shelf. Redyed it back to black.

    Bad picture of it fitted

    Schrick 284 degree cams . . .

A guy in France is getting splitters made in c/f to replace the wooden part that usually breaks, I priced up all the bumper supports a few days ago from BMW and they wanted 500 pounds sterling!

Electric sunblind would have been cooler.

I wanted to stick with the e36 one (the electric ones look class), trying to get the proper shelf and sunblind to slide into place was a bloody fight as it was

He is getting the prototype finished at the minute, he sent me a picture a few days ago.

When it is finished, he is sending me the links to the supplier, I'll pass this on to you too.

I see in your signature you have a gt splitter? Did you use original brackets etc?

Where abouts in Ireland are you? I'm just outside Derry.

Not much of an update as I haven’t done a lot to the car since, I have just been enjoying driving it instead, it is a car afterall lol

Rest of the moulded mudflaps finally fitted, (or winter pack as BMW call it)

Gave the back wheels a bit of a clean, products used = water and a sponge

    Front e46 m3 disks and spacers….

I thought the lights weren’t quite yellow enough, so I gave them a coat of glass paint the night before the Show’erks show in Bangor.

Front end stripped down to do the lights, also fitted the bracket in front of the aircon fan for the headlight washers (that keeps the pipe away from the fan)

Some pics from the show in Bangor…. The drivers headlight was misted up from being split the night before, I had the M3 badge off changing it for a new one and didn’t have it back on yet….. I didn’t have time to polish the car either, so it got a wash that morning.

AUC Climate control to be fitted some day, same as what is in the car with the auto function.

New M3 badge back on (hopefully straight)

    Headlights demisting sorted

The novielty of the rear sunblind is still there

I see a lot of people changing the back window seals, I was wondering how mines are not perished as the car never been parked in a bubble/heated garage, it seems to have always been used as a …..car lol. I seen in the receipts that a previous owner must have changed them.

It is going for a correction detail on Monday, that’ll be it’s first machine polish since I got it, I’m looking forward to the results!

Did you use a jig for placement of an ///M3 badge or you did it by eye?
    It looks out of place.

I think it is in the wrong place, I measured it off another bootlid.

I got the BMW measurements about 3minutes ago, so I will check/change it.

Just to confirm you got the right measurements, use the attached picture with dimensions (as a jig).

Looked like a fun show that you went to. Never seen an E46 on style 32s either.

Some pictures after an enhancement detail (I had said correction detail by mistake in my last post…). Big thanks to Andy @ A+ Detailing (http://www.a-plus-detailing.co.uk) for a top job as usual.

I'll move the M3 badge another day!
