where can you buy the euro bumper trim new? I tired many places....all NLA

I have bought all my trim through the dealer. Most pieces I wanted are NLA but I did scoop up some of the last pieces in Germany.

None unfortunately. I've ordered all the sound deadening panels...

About 6 months ago I went on vacation for a week and came back to a empty shop and bank account. Two of my employees cleaned the place out for the most part because of misleading advice. The situation has set us back a little but hopefully in the next three months or so ill be back on it. I will finish this project sooner or later.

The advise came from an outside cpa, it's a really long and bad story. I can't say much on the forum for the time being.

The good news is that I will revive this project soon. I did drive the car up the street the other day.

The misleading advice came from an outside cpa... If the advice came from my wife id lock her in the closet lol.

This car is back in action. I'll post up some pictures.






Stripping all the factory sound deadening out of the car. Also we rebuilt the full sunroof assembly but I didn't take any pictures of that. I will have to redo most of this when we install the new headliner any way so I'll take pictures then. Here is the Dyno graph. Boost is at 5 psi and this is about 1 hour worth of tuning. We probably have another two full days of tuning work I'd guess.

All new rubber? As far as tires they are pretty old and have almost no tread. Most of the parts on this car have been replaced with new expect for the interior which there is none in the car.

Gonna take a guess that he means rubber seals for the doors and windows and stuff....


Also, remind me what engine setup you have? I know you're running VEMS but thats all I remember.

We did replace all the seals that we could get ahold of new. We have a few seals that we couldn't get ahold of like a few outer window seals. We had a brand new but old stock trunk seal get shipped to us and it was so brittle that it ripped when trying to install it.

I wish that the bimmer forums app that I use would let me upload pictures. It would be a little more helpful in describing things if I could post pictures a little easier.

I hate that so many parts are NLA for this car, I'd like to start replacing seals to. Mercedes Benz apparently can remake just about any OE part (for a cost) no matter how old the car is. Thats at least what Jay Leno said in his gullwing SL video. Why can't BMW be that cool considering they have that massive heritage collection to maintain?

They sure do! The bimmer forum app. It works really well except for the picture upload part... I agree with you, too bad BMW isn't willing to remake some of this stuff. If they needed a big order to make some of this stuff I'd probably place the order.

In regards to this motor:

M106 block
B35 pistons rods and crank
B35 cylinder head and cam
M106 turbo kit
80lbs injectors
Vems with custom engine harness

It's been a few years now since I put it all together so I have probably forgotten some stuff.

Also I did buy a e23 86 735 for a parts car, it cost 650 delivered. I'll be pulling all the interior out of it and swapping into my car so I can try and drive this damn thing.

Ah okay, I bet that b35 head is helping nice with flow. 250rwhp on only 5psi is really healthy.


Keep us up to date on this, later this year I hope to go megasquirt after I get my TCD kit sorted out and AFAIK you're the only person who has recently put a standalone EFI on a 745i. I know the VEMS is similar but not quite the same as megasquirt.

MB classic center is great. They are sticklers regarding Grey Market cars though, so not everything is easy. Finding lens seals for my ECE headlights was a real chore.

Finding good euros low beam lenses is turning out to be a chore. I might jump on s flight and go pick them up somewhere if I don't find some soon.

I've never dyno'd any other 745's so I'm not sure how this compares to others but it spools really well. I'll be working on this thing a lot over the next few weeks. I'll continue to post the progress.

I have the info how to do it, while retaining the EH trans. Well, 95% sure it will work. I even have an MS2 box here, just need to order a damned shielded cable for the VR sensor to try it. Maybe I will next year.

I've read your build thread over too. I'm sure when the time comes I'll be posting tons of questions, not like I've ever done EFI from scratch before.

Needs to happen though, my motronic gets more moronic as days go by.

Eventually, probably a winter project. Nothing is final in my head but I think I'm going to use a superETA harness to start with.
