So OSRAM doesnt make a 9006

After all the headlight threads Ive read.. and people screaming "USE OSRAM SILVERSTARS" I finally learn that they dont make bulbs for our headlights. Fogs only.

So, if I were to get the H1s, what would you suggest for the headlights?
Sylvania Silverstars I dont really want to use.. but might if they will be a decent match in color.
Arent the Sylvania more of a blueish color and the OSRAM white?

I cant fork over the cash for HIDs at the moment. I know someone will want to sneak that comment in there.

Im just tired of outrunning my headlights on the highway. Ive finally got my fogs to work and just need new bulbs. Would like to get the headlights done too.

Nop, OSRAM Silverstars don't come in the US specs "sizes", only H1, H4 and H7.

I think you should consider upgrading your dim plastic headlights to some nice euro specs glass headlights

    Yes
That best you'll be able to do is to get Sylvania Xtravisions, which are Sylvania Silverstars without the light-robbing tint. They're also half the price. Or hack a 9005 to fit.

Osram Silverstars aren't made in HB3/HB4 (9005/6) because the market they target is more concerned with actual performance that looks.

You can get Silverstars in the U.S. OSRAM Sylvania is the European branch. Their bulbs, even with the same numbers, are different.

when you do the 9005-->9006 conversion.. do you want to use just a regular halogen bulb? or get something brighter like a silverstar and then get that 9005 to fit?

I helped PrestoMB do his headlight mod, it was quite simple. We picked APC super whites. BE CAREFUL, they make 2 differant types. 1 has a VERY BLUE coating and gives off a ricer blue color. The make another type that has a light coating similar to the Silerstars and their output ir PURE white, no blue. Thats the one you want. Easy mod, Step 1. use an Xacto or similar knife to remove the 2 "rails" inside the bulb's plug. Step 2. You simply trim aprox. 1/8" or less from the top mounting tab and BAM!!! mod done. Step 3. ENJOY 27% more light

thanks for the info. Ill certainly keep this as an option.

While HIDs are out of my range right now.. I do think I may be able to afford some Depos with DDEs and then later add on the HIDs.

What bulb do the Depos use? H1s?
Will light output still increase over what I currently have (stock)?
If so, I think I might do this along with Osrams in the fogs. That should give me a significant difference in visability until I can afford to purchase HIDs.

Is it difficult to add on HIDs to the projectors when they dont come preinstalled?
