    Unhappy EWS Mileage Incorrect

Hello, I just got PA Soft 1.4, read all the modules in the car and found that the mileage from the IKE and LCM did not match the EWS. Is this normal ?

    IKE Mileage: 257497 km
    LCM Mileage: 257400 km
    EWS Mileage: 983552 km

The IKE is dead on as I just passed 160,000 Miles.

I posted the identical problem just a day ago with no replies so far. Must just be a quirk somewhere.

Thank you for the response ! makes me feel a little better knowing someone else has the same problem.

Do you know if clearing errors from the modules can cause any problems ? I have alot of errors, the car drives fine should I clear them ?

I haven't really worried about it, nor have I ever found a thread that gives reasoning.

Egika, does your car have the tamper light under the odometer, that would explain why the mileage is different.

no tamper light. Everything seems to be fine except the EWS mileage...
So I think this effect is quite common and nothing to worry about.

Hmm, when I scanned my friend's 98 540 his EWS module was extremely high as well. Something like 650k, so I wonder if there's an issue with '98 modules. At first I thought someone had messed with the mileage but there was no way that car had 400k miles.

Yeah must be a common problem. I would only worry if you had a tamper light. I have scanned a few 98 BMW's and the mileage has always been different, big or small always different.

    bump.

same issue: car with 127.000km, EWS more tha 600.000
obviously, no tamper dot. but the dealer from the key reads that very high mileage.

    someone solved?

I wouldnt worry about it, theres no way your car has 600k on it. I had one that told me the mileage was over 9 million... Its a glitch in the system, doesnt effect the car in any way.

for cars before 2000 or so bmw did not use mileage in ews....functionality is available but the mileage is hard coded to 999999 only later years have redundancy check of ews mileage.
