    smg help

Hello...I've got a 02 m3 that gives me fits most of the time ...while I'm driving it sometimes drops to 0 (neutral) .doesn't make any difference in (a)or (s) ..I have done the resistor mod and replaced the"salmon " relay, and no fix .the shop it is at said it was the battery.replaced it and no joy. Now they say its the gear id sensor ..."$434.02 part 2hr labor and maybe no fix.could it be the pump? I can hear it purge though ..when it shifts it seams like it is in perfect order ...temp does not matter also ....... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.thanx .

Could be a faulty hood pin sensor. There are two sensors that tell the system that your hood is latched. If they show "open", the transmission won't go out of neutral.

The codes they were able to get are 36,37 and 17....I tried slamming the Hood ...after it goes to 0/neutral if turn the car off let it sit for 10sec it will shift fine for a little while. Sometimes it will only make it to 2md gear then it goes to neutral ...I drove it to the shop around 25 miles no problems ...next day they test drive it,it only made it 3.4 miles and went to neutral ......

anyone have a part number or a pic for the shift solenoid B...thanx
