I'm having trouble locating a place to get this screen... I have the grey spots all over my nav screen and i would love to fix it. very easy to do with this guide...
can you help me locate a source to get this screen..?
thanks!
I got mine from eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-NAVIGATI...c95add&vxp=mtr
There are cheaper ones too:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Original...94bde3&vxp=mtr
However I cannot vouch for the $180 one. I bought the $250 one from germanaudiotech and the shipping was reasonably fast and the screen was well protected and worked excellent (that is, until I screwed it up lol). When you reassemble, be sure everything is routed just the way it was. DO NOT put excess pressure on the casing to make it fit together. Should take no extra pressure. I put too much pressure on mine because I had the LCD power harness routed incorrectly and now I have two white lines stuck on running across the top (sigh).
hmm so it has to be the bmw one? guess it would be to fit
why isn't this in the DIY section?
How long ago did you upgrade to MK4 navi?
June 2001 Build Date. One of the last.

What a fantastic write-up, especially if you have a damaged or non-functional screen.
Wasn't there another write-up recently about how adding JUST the screen protector over a screen with marks on it would "fill in" the gaps and eliminate most of the problem?
awesome, im doing this!
That's what I did initially. I used this walkthrough to tear down to the naked screen then covered the screen with a screen protector film to hide the messed up anti glare coat on the stock LCD.

Just don't be a doofus like me and buy a reflective coating, lol. That thing was like a mirror, had to remove it and get a matte cover.
Excellent write up. Do you have any sources you can share for the screen? Aside from eBay I have not had any luck.
Thanks
Ebay seems to be the only place for them..... "All German Auto" on ebay has the best stock from what I can see and have found.
xoxo
Awesome! Thank you!
great DIY.. I am about to tackle this project on my e46 330ci. Do you know if this screen will work?
