    Yeah what he said...

    I'm thinking I want a 2 pedal car with a 4l80e too.

What did you use for a trans mount? What did you do with the shifter? How did that work out? OEM BMW?

Inquiring minds want to know.... I think this is one of the first actual auto swaps, although I know a bunch of people have talked about it.

    Thanks in advance,

    George

Trans mount was just a simple channel steel cross piece that I mounted to some mounts that I welded onto the chassis. Stock shifter, works well with the GM trans.

Engine included all wiring, sensors PCM. Only the alt was missing (I got one at the junkyard for $30). Lower rad hose is Taurus for $25, upper is BMW and GM hybrid with a Home Depot hose connector ($3). Rad is a used 328 ($60). Driveshaft is a Ford Ranger ($30 at junkyard), diff flange is new ($45), new ujoints ($75).

Basically, lots of USED parts, not new. I think that's the key to a cheap swap.
do you remember what diff flange you use?

Most LS swaps use a Tremec T-56, but there are a few other options: https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/pr...smission-swap/
Diving in at the shallow end!
