I have no cats with oem resonator with flow master mufflers and universal magna flow tips.
Combined with dimas tune I think it sounds awesome and backfires once im a while as well

Idles perfect. Might be running just a tad to rich with the tune
This is my set up, I love it. (I'm using O2 sensor spacers to eliminate the cats check engine code)
BMW E38, no cats no exhaust and dual YONAKA tips.: http://youtu.be/xmJw_cpAqE4
just cut the factory mufflers off and thats it. It sounds perfect.

The spoiler I just used 3M dual sticky tape all around lol and after placed it perfectly I tighten down for a week or so with blue tape, haven't come off ever since, almost a year now, the tips I got from eBay 60 dollars I believe, just search for YONAKA dual tips, the bumper I had my mechanic cut it, he didn't want to cuz he never did it and he made me sign a letter that if he messed up its on me lol, came out good if you ask me lol
Does anyone have pics of dual single tips on an e38? I haven't come across any.
Even if I dont do the cutouts it will look nice. Anyone have a pic of tips without cutouts on the bumper?
I wish I would have taken a picture when my friend did it without the bumper cut, let's just say he immediately cut th the bumper after his saw how it looked lol I wouldn't recommend it, it looks stupid in my opinion. Try to find a shop that would cut the bumper, don't be cheap on it pat for a mechanic to get a good cut, bumpers are not cheap. Lol
Here's how the tips look from under the car.

I currently have magnaflow 14863s. There is a slight rumble at about 1000rpm, but I enjoy it. In fact, I wish it were louder. Which is why I am considering doing a muffler delete. There's nothing like the sound of that bmw v8.
I think the Flowmaster will generally be slightly louder than Magnaflow, but I like the sound of the MF better.

And I used the Flowmaster Hushpower II mufflers on mine. Love the deep tone, no rasp or drone.
