How Much Fluid Do I Need to Flush My Brake System?

Looking at flushing the brakes to performance fluid. How much do I need to do a complete flush?

Buy 3 of the little cans. If you get it done with 2, you can return the third one.

I use no more than 2 cans of the ATE Super Blue (1liter) for each flush. Dont think you will need 3...

When doing a complete flush (including clutch) on my 2.3, I end up gping through about 1-2/3 to 1-3/4 cans of Super Blue using the motive pressure bleeder.

I flushed my gf's 2.8 Z3 the other day and it only took 1 1/3 of a can (1.33 L) of ATE Super Blue.

I didn't mean 3 liters, I meant 3 pints, or whatever those little cans are. I like the smallest can available for brake fluid; that stuff absorbs moisture from the air.

Curious, will upgrading to Super Blue change the feel of the clutch in any way? Say make it easier to depress?

Is Super Blue the one to go with for the 1st flush? In other words the contrast of colors between the stock fluid and the Super Blue, would be different between the two.

Juker, I'm pretty sure my gf's z3 had whatever brake fluid they use at the dealer or elsewhere. It was a clear difference when the Super Blue reached the calipers.

You may want to get the ATE gold after using the blue for an year or two (depending on your driving) to do the next flush.

I didn't notice any real difference in clutch operation.
