Working on cleaning up some wiring this weekend, and converting over to OBD2. My engine parts are finally back from the machine shop, so progress has started up again on the Vanilla Gorilla!

I will be doing the fuel system after the wiring, and hopefully in the next month or two it will be alive again.

    Stay tuned!

Faster ECU processing (IIRC), better knock control, and reflashing tunes is easier vs. physical chips. Jordan (RK-tunes) prefers OBD2 for super big power.

Mike why do I feel like I read somewhere way back in your thread that you already went back to obd2?

    I bought a TRM OBD2 80# setup and never installed it. Now going RK-tunes 115# E85 OBD2 tune.

No reason not to go or stay obd2 nowadays.

Little more progress. I made a tray/electrical box deal to mount and hide all my wires to clean up things as much as possible. I like minimalist things so trying to keep it looking super simple with as little wiring shown as possible. The fuseblock and X20 connections will all be hidden in here where the heatercore would essentially be on a stock car.

And here is how the panel sits now. I will close off the sides with panels after all the wiring is done.

    Fuel system getting ready:

Ordered a few more fittings and things to do the fuel system. Next up is X20 / OBD2 harness wiring at the fuse block.

I already have a bw s366 that I am going to use initially. I am working on becoming a dealer for a lot of this stuff, so I'm holding off on an EFR until maybe I can justify one for "testing" purposes, from the S366 -> EFR 9180, since they are essentially the same size and would be a good comparison for 66-67mm size turbos.

I will be using EWG TS though when I do it. My manifold is already all plumbed and setup for twin Tial MVS and I have them already.

    More progress:

Now about to scrub the interior. Climbing around the cage isn't the most fun I've ever hard.

OBD2 conversion: What you are doing for the crank position sensor? Do you have a obd2 block, or mounting it at crank pulley?

Thanks! I have it mounted at the crank pulley (S50 crank), and I am using a '99 euro 328i crank sensor, which is designed for front mount but plugs into OBD2 harness.

I decided to hide my wiring harness within the cowl to get a little more space near cylinder 6. Just need to paint it white and should be good to go!

Painted the panel, it doesn't quite match but whatever. Went OCD cleaning up the engine bay today since I felt the car deserved it. It's been built 3 years and I've never really scrubbed the engine bay ever until today. Nice clean home for the new setup

Next up is installing the fuel system and building the engine!

Did you have an issue with your other AR Design manifold? Wondering....or do you just expect even better twinscroll pulsing due to equal length action?

Equal length my man! I think equal length is very important - as is twin scroll.
