I wonder if this is the same car that was totaled from a fire?

Still no updates? I read through each and every page and got so excited only to be quickly disappointed in the dead end of this project
Hey everyone,
The car is still alive and well. It spent a year at yet another paint shop, only for them to bail out as well. I was going to have my new across the street neighbors do the work (A Geico Collision Center) and then the owner forbid the initiative. So, I am offering it up to someone that may want to continue its progress.
how does the car sit right at this moment?

I feel your pain, i have had trouble with paint shops with my build. Lost lots of $$ with a shop closing and had to retrieve my unfinished car before they went under. keep your head up... you have to finish the car or you will feel horrible if you decide to part it out.

Update!
The M-Technic has a new owner. He is a very passionate BMW enthusiast and will be able to properly continue the good work and restore this to better than its former glory. The plan is to get it properly painted, and then do an M52 turbo with a 600hp goal. The car will also be getting a 4 channel ABS upgrade, and I am sure many other things.
Looking forward to updating the thread as more develops.
Good read but sad to see you had to sell it. Hopefully the new owner shows off the finished product. I'm working on chassis 5418 right now. It will be my son's car. Rob and the Markert guys take care of our e46 race car, the Bone Crusher.
Price? Pics of current state?
Asking $1900OBO for everything. I feel like I have that in new seals etc still in the OE packaging. New OE hood, new front bumper assembly, all the OE control arms and suspension parts. Fully overhauled rear subframe, all brakes rebuilt, Euro floating rotors, redone rear interior panels, Eibach front sway bar, etc etc. The list goes on and on.
Installing 5 new lifts into the space it currently occupies so it needs to go. I wish I could make the time but with the business growing and all the effort that takes 24/7, my priorities are elsewhere. When someone restores it to it proper glory, I would love first rights of refusal to buy it back. I have countless hours obsessing over the car, and know it will be the beauty it is meant to be one day!
(Note: car is very dusty so please see through that)

Please let me know if the link is working to the current photos, if not, I can happily text them to anyone interested.

It's at the new shop, yeah? I might stop by tomorrow to check it out. Let me know...
WUTCONE?

I have the M Technic from Rob and it is in Talladega, AL. Later this year I will begin restoring it and keep the thread alive. I have 4 E36s counting the M-Tech, 2 are M3s, a track car and a daily, 2 E30s, a track and a daily, along w a Z3. I race an e36 in Chump Car and built the car from bare block up. Not certain what drive train will go in the M-Rech but I do have a newly built M50 on my engine stand. We shall see what the future holds. Todd
Unfortunately I am moving and having to sell of cars and project cars. If anyone wants to restore a real e36 M Tech, I have the car, sans drive train, and will sell it cheap. I have the interior and door cards. Front seats would need new cloth. m3trackcar@gmail.com if interested. Car is in Talladega AL.
interested. price and condition please? (possibly pics would help) thanks
