    next purchase 00 M5 vs. 03 540

    need your help with regard to future purchase..

    Considering an 00 M5 vs 03 540(E39)
    given the same price(almost!) what would be your choice?
    present ride is 03 M3-SMG and 99 528i touring.

    Ok, one thing, some of the 00 models had vanos problems, so make sure to check the records if they were replaced. Also check for any MAF replacements.

    if you had said 02 540 i would say unequivocally the M5 but as an owner of an 02 M5, i have to say the 03 540's revised suspension brings the 540 much closer.

    drive both and decide..
