Well, I broke one of the flanges from the midpipe to the catback.. How can I fix this? Do I have to get a whole new midpipe?? This sucks I was just tightening it up and the flange just broke right in half.. Someone help please...
Well I did a little research and it appears the only way to fix this is to cut the pipe, put on a new flange, and weld another expanded peice to keep the flange on.. Well Tuffys here I come haha.. I hate those guys.
Let this be a lesson to everyone else.
Exhaust components endure high temperatures and are very brittle. I recommend not touching them unless you have to!!

Cannot you just weld the old flange back onto the pipe?
One of the pipes broke off one of the downpipes at the exhaust mani on my daughters '94.
The pipe slid into the flange about 1/4" (where it broke, inside the flange). So I just bolted it back up and welded the pipe to the outside of the flange. Not as good as new OE, but should last several years
Oh wait - you said the flange itself broke in half?
Hmm...

Yes the flange itself. Luckily I found out about this before I went and paid a shop a buncha money.

Make sure you get the correct diameter of the pipe so you get the correct flange kit. If you don't then the holes on the flange it mates to won't line up correctly.
Nice find on the repair kit. Im impressed.

Better late than never. Here was my basement fix. C Flange Bracket.
This is why I cut flanges off most BMW exhausts in junk yards. not only are they useful to weld onto aftermarket exhausts to replace slip joints that never hold or seal right, they sell like hot cakes to people with rotted exhausts.
