Turbo vs SC on 95 M3

Im sure this is a age old question but I am wondering the +'s and -'s of each option.

I understand the basics on how a turbo charger works (exhaust) but Which setup is harder on the engine?

What type of increase in HP would you receive from a Turbo vs a Super Charger?

Also is buying a used system a bad idea?

I think the turbo has more power potential if you run high lbs of boost, but how long will the motor last? And how much strain will that put on the driveline and suspension? To me the Supercharger made more sense, its much more linear and smooth in the way the power comes on and I think it has a longer lifespan than a turbo, especially one with high boost! A Dinan SC with 355hp is more than enough power for 9 out 10 people on the track! It takes time to learn how to use that much power wisely at the track, but if you just want to do 1/4 mi then maybe get the turbo and turn up the boost and see what happens.
