Dashboard digital screen problem

The digital screen located in the bottom of the dashboard is not visible in most of the lines. My car is 1998 528i e39 serial# BR48160. I tried to change the dashboard but the heat indicator is coming to full and the traction light is always on. Please advice if i can repair the old dashboard or i need to program the new one with special tool computer.

I mean the part of the dashboard located inferior to the speedometer, rpm, etc. in this i should see the milage of the car, gear selected and alarms like coolant level.
The price of it very expensive in the dealer.
