    Maybe an 06 Z4
Hey all - I purchased my first Bimmer last month. 2006 Z4 3.0i, sport pack, auto. Bright red. 84k. I had always wanted a Z series but always talked myself off the ledge. then I passed this bad boy on my way to work one day and had it in my driveway 24hrs later.

Have just gotten our third BMW, a 2004 Z4, 2.5 auto, Merlow Red, 186,000 miles. This adds to our other two, a 2001 BMW 330CiC and a 2014 X3. Pictures in a few days.

Hey Guys, brand new to the BMW world, just brought home a 2003 Z4 3.0i with the M sport suspension package. It was sold to me as purple, but it is color code A02 which i believe is Merlot Red Metallic with a black top and black leather interior. Mechanically it is a very clean car, but just has a couple cosmetic things i need to fix up. I will be doing some autox with her and routinely taking on tail of the dragon. She is replacing my 2013 Scion FRS.

While i am at it, there are a couple small pieces i need i am struggling to find. Can anybody point me in the right direction to find some interior trim pieces, specifically the cover for the hydraulic soft top pump (I think that's what it is, it is right behind the overhead lights when the top is up, my girlfriend already managed to break it thinking it was a sunglasses compartment) and the little grommet that goes around the door lock plunger.

2003 Z4, 2.5/5sp Silver with Black leather interior. Just got it a few months back to replace a Honda Goldwing that got rear ended at a stop light. So far enjoying very much as a weekend driver. Found this place doing research on the sticky steering issue. Thanks for all the inputs.

What's up everyone. I haven't been active on this forum in a long time, I've had 4 3 series and just got my second Z4. My first one was a 2005 Z4 3.0, just got a 2008 M. She's going to turner next week for a valve adjustment, spark plugs, and oil analysis. So far she's everything I've msised about my 05 but better

    Hello gang,

Also haven't been active on the site for some time. I have a 2008 Interlagos / Black interior M Roadster, currently about 38K miles. Sits next to my 03 540 MSport 6 speed in the garage. Have not done much work on the car myself at this point, but will be replacing the front $rotors$ / pads soon. Am wondering if there are any CT based gatherings coming up in the near future?

Can't seem to be able to post any good pic at this point, will add later

An E86 Finds a New Home

Here's a new to me '07 Z4 Coupe. It's a manual with Sport and Premium packages. It came to me with 67K. My only concern is that I'm the fifth owner. The fourth owner was an enthusiast who took great care of the car. He had no problems with the car in the two years he owned it and he kept up with the service.

I bought the Z4 to spell my Z3 Coupe from building up too many miles. This gives me the opportunity to endlessly debate which is better. It's a nice enough problem to have, but they are such different cars that I don't think that I'll ever completely resolve that point.

It is clear that the Z4 is a generation ahead of the Z3 in most things. I do appreciate the advances in electronics like the HIDs and the improved audio functionality (hands free bluetooth and an Aux input). I also like that the E86 isn't too advanced. I'm fine without the nav system, for example. My phone is plenty useful for directions and is cheaper to update. I would have liked a dipstick, but apparently BMW thinks N52s don't need that. I'd like it just to make oil changes easier.

    New Owner

    Hi All,

I will check in here before posting any questions. I've wanted a Z4 for a while. I finally upgraded from the Honda Civic Coupe I've driven for the past 15 years.

I was able to pick up a 2003 Z4 3.0i with only 29,700 miles. Seems to be in pristine shape with only a few minor dings. It is an automatic transmission. I do feel bad about that, but I'm getting old and driving the stick shift to work everyday for 15 years was enough.

Cool I'm Finally Back Home Again!!!

Hello All.. I've previously posted under Z3Don when I owned a Z3 Convertible and then a Z3 Coupe.. It's been many years now since owning those two beautiful vehicles and posting.. BUT... now I'm back! Still as Z3Don but with a Z4 Coupe . I just purchased a 2006 Z4 3.0si Coupe in white with the Red and Black interior yesterday 01/21/2016 with 49K on the dash. So I'm a newbie all over again and happy to be back!

Next Year...No More Mr. Nice Guy!

I'm on board with the registry. Last Nov I bought my first BMW, first Roadster, first Convertible. I've been driving for my weekend car a 1972 BRE 240Z for 13 years. Time for something with some creature comforts. Shopped roadsters for 5 months. Figured Fall was a good time to find a good deal. I test drove Z3M '99, ( wanted to drive an '01/'02 but they are hard to find ) 2007 Z4 3.0i, S2000 AP1 and AP2, 350Z, 370Z, TR8, even started thinking about American muscle with a Mustang or Camaro Vert. Was not happy with any of them...Then I happened upon a local seller with a 2006 Z4MR. BINGO ! I knew this was the car I wanted within 2 minutes of my test drive. Imola Red, Sebang Bronze Leather Extended Heated Seats, Carbon Leather Interior, Premium Sound 10 Speakers. $19K out the door with 55K miles. Single local owner...who owns a performance race shop. So no records, but dealership told me that they have sold him 15 BMW's and he takes meticulous care of his cars and I didn't need to worry about a thing from a maintenance standpoint. Been driving it now for 4 months I LOVE THIS CAR ! I actually just dropped it off today at my local indi, having CDV, CPV, new 10.9 bolts replaced on motor brackets, Vibra Technics Motor Mounts, Rogue Engineering Tranny mounts and a check over all other suspension parts.

    The Official Bimmerforums Z4 Registry

2005, Z4 3.0i (E85) Roadster, Titansilber Metallic/Schwarz Soft and Hard Tops, Leder Oregon/Schwartz (LASW), Sport Package, Dinan Stage 2 M54B30 engine and ZF 5 Speed Automatic transmission, Dinan Stage 3 suspension, Porsche 996 Turbo Brembo Brakes, Ellipsoid (107) and M Double Spoke (224) staggered wheels, 120,000 miles in six years.

Recommend formatting a registry with Vin numbers on a spread sheet. It is almost impossible to find or organize Z4's in this format. Appreciate you starting this Post.

    2005 Z4
So last week my 94 Miata's head gasket bit the dust, and, rather than put money into a car that has sat on and off all year, I bought a 2005 Z4. 2.5l, black with red leather. Not sure what all packages I have. I know the seats are heated, auto top which has just been replaced, but, still needs a helping hand for some reason. No nav. I would like to figure out what audio options I have as I want to update the sound system.it is 2018 after all and I would like a digital media player rather than the CD player already in there. Crutchfield has kits to keep the steering wheel controls, so I'm looking to do that next month. 140k on the odometer. Just drove it home last night on a spur of the moment purchase. Showed the Miata, and, got frustrated and drove to the first dealer on Craigslist that had one. The miata was a toy, this is a grown UP's toy.
This is my first BMW, though back in the 90's I used borrow my barracks roommate's junky old 80's era 3 series.

Tried the link but it wouldn't work. Says there is a problem try again no matter how many times I try. I tried other Vin decoders but it didn't definitively answer my question. I didn't see your link and started a thread.

Here's my '06 Z4MR that I purchased in March of last year. Had to go two states away to find her. She's my first BMW. It is great fun taking her on the winding mountain roads here in Colorado. She has almost 60K miles on her, but she's a fair weather garage queen. Been doing small fix ups here and there but I am about ready to take on Inspection II as a DIY, valve adjustment and VANOS rebuild and all.

Thanks very much for the link. I had my head unit replaced yesterday with a alpine CDE-HD149BT which is a pretty swanky model for a single din. Unfortunately it did not fix the intermittent sound outages on my HiFi Soundsystem. Turns out the amp being located in the trunk where it is gets exposed to water just like the hydraulic motor. He broke it down and tried to clean it up, but, it is corroded inside and out. He said this is a common problem with our cars and showed me another corroded z4 amplifier just like it that he took out for a lady recently. To save on labor and parts they are going to replace it with two marine grade 4 channel amps in the stock location to keep from having to mess with the wiring and future water damage. I'm still confused why a ten speaker system needs 8 channels. I would have thought a single 5 channel, or a 4 channel and single sub amp would have done the trick, but, I'm no expert with electronics. I have replaced many headunits and speakers but never messed with an amp. I also wanted it to look professionally done instead of an aftermarket unit stuffed in a dash like my work invaribley looks. It's pricey though. Next month or the spring the hydraulic motor is up. The dealer said he replaced but I don't believe him. I should probably check my drain holes.

    Clean those drains,
Spring and Fall, especially after the trees have shed all their leaves.
