Tom,
Here is another E30 Baur spotted on eBay:

It is in California, and the accompanying photos even include a shot of the Baur tag.

My friend and fellow Baurspotter Josh L. messaged me today that he found a 323i TC2 Baur in Savannah this morning, owned by Lynton S. I have his contact info, so I will try to reach him in the next couple of days.
Josh is the former owner of Baur #917:
That is the Baur that we have managed to trace back through 5 previous owners going back 10 or 12 years:

This may not work for those with Concours models, but.... the Baur is a versatile vehicle!
Can't do THIS with a regular convertible ...... and there is more!

Thanks tom Here is another pic from the parts catalog I showed you in Saratoga.
And here's something I hadn't seen a Baur E21 Hard top very cool .
Figure 6.7
The one in the pic you posted looks like a standard Thule 1050 ( back in the day ) you'll notice the factory racks angle back to give you a wider foot print.

In looking through my Baur Parts Manual, published b BMW, I noticed something interesting, during the production of the Baur E30's Baur updated or changed some of the specific parts related to the Top parts and parcel shelf, unlike BMW splits such as the 7/1987, E30 Baur's splits are based on the chassi serial numbers from baur.
New Baur listed on Ebay It's being sold PP through a dealership, I e-mailed the sales person to see if I could get the baur Chassi #
Listing description
Asking price $18,990.00 Unrealistic price for a base car not even alloy's on it NO TACH... LESS THAN 10 Baurs in the us Don't tell the E21 guys . LOLSerious Collectors Take a look at THIS! We are proud to be offering this 1985 BMW 316 baur tc, directly from the original owner! This one owner vehicle was bought new in Koln, Germany, has traveled 11 countries in Europe, then spent many years in Monaco before it was finally brought here to the Hamptons for travel around town and the city. The 316 Baur TC model was actually NEVER offered for sale in America and this is one of only 10 known baur's in the US that is still on the road......And its probably the nicest one by far. Please take a look at all the pictures to see the excellent condition this vehicle is in, it is very obvious its owner has taken very good care of it over the years and maintained it properly. Needless to say it does have a few small chips and scratches which would be expected on a vehicle of this age, mileage and history-but as a whole is in excellent condition. NO RUST. Paint is very bright and shines up beautifully. Interior is in great condition as well, only the drivers seat has suffered a little wear from years of service but the panels, carpet and dash are all in excellent shape..PLEASE NOTE: this vehicle has 88,382 KILOMETERS on it........which equals only 55,000 miles! LOW LOW MILEAGE! Nothing in the car is hydraulic or electric-so it doesn't break! This car is sure to turn heads and provide its new owner with many years of driving pleasure. Whether your looking for a beach cruiser, a unique Sunday driver or adding another RARE car to your collection-THIS IS IT! BMW Enthusiasts should not miss the opportunity to own this truly special vehicle. This vehicle just passed NY state inspection, is Registered and Titled in NY state, and qualifies for Historic License plates. Place your bids before the owner changes his mind! This is an extremely rare opportunity to not only a unique, well maintained vehicle, but one that has a lot of character and history as well. Please don't hesitate to call or email with any other questions, further description or more pics
Tom How Many E30 baurs do you estimate are in the USA at this time, I tried to get count in the "roll call thread" of members cars any way.

I did a cursory count of what I have on this computer, and it looks like we have about 50 or so TC2 Baurs listed in one way or another. I may have others on my work computer.
I think we are just in the early stages however. I expect to find many more, just as we have done with the TC1s. We started with reports of about 30 TC1s, and we are now over 80, and counting. Just based on production numbers, there should theoretically be more TC2s than TC1s, since about twice as many were built, but we dont really know.
YET!
Lotta work to be done to get a more realistic estimate.

Although this Baur appears to be silver in this pic, I have a sneaking suspicion that its true color is closer to......
Opalgrun!
From The Vintage in NC 2012.
Am I correct?

auch so ugly but so wounderful at the same time
Hi Guys,
Long time since I've posted. But after seeing Tomcat's trip to Home Depot in his Baur, I had do post these of mine with Yakima roof rack (yes, this is the same Yakima system I used to carry bikes on my old Baur about 12 years ago -- still works fine!!!).
These photos are from today.
Best,
Tom

No. You also cannot pull soft top up with a bike up there. So, not ideal if it rains while transporting bikes and one of the tops is down.
I find it's usually best to keep targa in, soft top down, then put on roof rack, then bikes.
Once bikes are offloaded, it's pretty easy to lock soft top.
Bavarian Autosport Show and shine is a month away , Lets try to get as many Baurs as we can to attend, In order to get into the show you need to be there early because there are so many cars and the parking lot fills up quickly.
Who is planning on attending I'll cross post this in the E21 section as well.

Here are a couple of posts on the Lime Rock Historics last weekend. Unbelievable show, weather near perfect.... beautiful Lime Rock Park and Sir Stirling Moss! Hard to beat that combination.
There were two Baurs on the track (see bimmerforums thread, below), and two more Baur owners present but without their Baurs: Lawrence C from NY had his beautiful 2002, and Dave T., who owns the green 2002 Targa that was at the Larz Anderson Museum earlier this summer, was there with his friend, John D, in his E9.

And I had a bit of fun there, also.
