Funny you should mention this today... yesterday I wore my Official Turner Motorsports Caravan to Bimmerfest 2011 T-shirt for the first time this year! That was a blast!

The good: I have finally finished the reassembly of Miss Opal -- aside from minor trim pieces such as the front lip, the grilles . . . and the hood.
The bad: I have a no-start condition caused by no fuel getting to the fuel rail.
I replaced all of the fuel hose and clamps (and I do mean ALL) along with the filter, and I also had the main fuel pump down for cleaning.
Of course I removed the crank posisiton sensor (CPS) while perfoming the timing-belt-and-seal job, but it is reinstalled on the car.
The relay clicks and the fuel pump hums, but the car gets no fuel.
I know that our cars are a bit different than the U.S. versions which is why I am reluctant to begin troubleshooting by using the Bentley's procedure; I don't wish to inadvertently jump two hot terminals! So: are the test procedures the same? And what other problems could be causing this situation?

Ed,
Thanks for the suggestion. As it turns out, the in-tank lifter pump is not doing its job -- and has probably not done so in a long time. Once I primed the car's primary pump, it started up and ran fine.

Just as an update, the one that I posted sold for NZ$700 (about US$500).

You can say THAT again!
Is anyone heading over to The Vintage (formerly Vintage at the Vineyard) in the Winston-Salem area this weekend. Historic Salem, I think. Too far for me to go, but I know Reggie's Motorworks from Indiana is bringing their dark brown TC2 Baur. Worth seeing.
Three Baurs were there last year, including Reggie's:

http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2011/05/more-baurs-at-vintage.html
Can we top that this year? Baur owner HarryPR from the E21 forum will be there in his friends 2002. His Baur is now on the island of Puerto Rico, so it will not be there.
If you can go, any pics, especially Baur pics, will be greatly appreciated!

There's a baur for sale in my area for pretty cheap, kinda want it....
Details, details!! (If you are comfortable sharing.... we understand you may want to keep some details private while you negotiate, and we dont want to undermine that.)
On the other hand, this forum can be a resource to helping you distinguish a good deal from a bad one, and we are here to help!
We may already know the car in question..... is it one of these:
http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/p/baurs-for-sale.html
Either way, good luck... and let us know how it goes... happy to help if we can.
I am in CT, btw, and I can't buy any more now (check out my signature to see why!), so.... I am no competition for you!

That's the one.
I'm really interested in seeing how this one gets put back together. Did it come with a rear top that wasn't in the pictures?
Ha ya, that one. But I actually think im going to fix my e36 instead and sell the e46. That, or trade my e46 for an e30 and part out the e36 or sell it. :/ wish I could buy that though....Originally Posted by tomscat1

Ras called me back today 5/25/2012..... it appears that the guy from Maximillian may have the TC1 and the TC2 confused. Stay tuned: it isnt clear yet which locking latch is available. I will repost when it is gets sorted out.
I received a phone call yesterday from Ras, a TC1 Baur (#2581) owner in Georgia. He has been searching for the convertible top latches for his Baur for a long time. He was very excited because he had just gotten off the phone with Maximillian Importing Company in MD, and they have located a source in Germany for the latches he needs!
I don't know about latches for the TC2, but this is an encouraging sign! If you are in need latches..... and I know there were some inquiries in here not too long ago.... itt may be worth a call.
The Latches for the TC1 aren't cheap--- they are coming from Germany, apparently----- so if you are in need, you may want to look at bundling them with some other parts, since to dilute the shipping/import cost a bit.
This is a pic of the TC1 version....
