Leo: Congratuations and welcome! It's pretty cool how many of us (myself included) become hooked on the Baurs and buy them over again.
Re the Hartge Baur in Washington state: I hope the fog lights work well!
The owner of this Baur has responded to me today. Here is his Baur plate. He plans to get on the International Baur Registry. He also stated that he took it to BMW and they confirmed that it is indeed a Hartge.
Stay tuned.

The side marker ( on my cars as well ) were also found on the the late model 2002's non roundies so there is a BMW part # for them. I replaced my left front.
If you need the part # search Real Oem 2002 US version production date of 1/76 lighting verious lamps and you'll find them there.

I dont know if it is the same car. Anything is possible!
I will ask the owner. Same white roof, but different side marker lights. I have also had contact with the former owner of the Nebraska Baur (the one you posted Jeroen), but he no longer has info on the sale. I think he may have sold it to someone out west.
How many TC2 Baurs had this color combination?

Very curious if this is the same car!

Bingo!
It appears we have a winner, folks!
I just got the following email from the seller in Everett WA:
"wow
thats look like my car when i bought it except when i bought it, it had bottle cap alloy wheels. lol that's crazy. yeah i did restored some rust on it. she had a brand new paint job. i remember doing a car fax on her while back and it showed that she was in Nebraska. ha ha wow "
My turn to say "WOW!"
Kudos to Jeroen! This is why he gets the Big bucks as Baur Guru!! Nice job, Jeroen.
I am waiting for further confirmation from the seller in Nebraska.... but it certainly seems like we have found it!
HA!
Stay tuned!

Tom,
Then he would be the fifth owner of the car, I sold the car originally, as 3rd owner, to a retired psychology professor in Eugene, Oregon. It could be the car, however, it would be worth more if he had the original 17 inch Hartge wheels that it rolled to Oregon on so many years ago.
Damn i miss that car, but i'll be bent if I am paying 8 large to get it back.

Okay folks. It is confirmed. Game, set , match!
The two Baurs pictured below share the same Baur plate that is pictured in the middle. As Dave stated in the post above, he owned the car in Nebraska (pic on right below with Hartge decal). He has confirmed that he sold it to a gentleman in Eugene, Oregon, name Mel W.
The present owner of the car has confirmed, independently, that he bought the car from the same Mel W. in Eugene, Oregon.
The circle is complete! Nice job all! The Mystery of the Nebraska Hartge Baur is SOLVED!
Now we just have to find those Hartge Wheels!!
And the Baur is now available for sale!!!
I hope to give this a full write up in Baurspotting (more details, more pics!) when I get a little time. What a great story! Thanks for everyone's help and cooperation!

Dave,
You are right beyond a doubt.
Of course, any wheels -- the bottlecaps or even those wheels (wheelcovers?) which it wore in the barnyard -- would be better than what it apparently wears now. Yes, the current owner (seller) can flame me and I probably deserve it, but good grief . . . why does everything have to be banger-ized these days? Especially a Hartge . . .
Alright, venting accomplished. I will now put my "nice guy" hat back on . . .

in the original pic, it had Hakkepalita snow tires on steelies with BMW hubbies. worked great for when i was working on the mountain on the east coast.

Ummmm....
....these wheels?
Pic is 1984 E30 Euro Baur Cabrio, Black on Black that was for sale in... you guessed it .... Washington state in March of 2010.
Coincidence? Probably, but...... could these be the missing wheels?
No way, right? Must be thousands and thousands of Hartge wheels on BMW Baurs in Washington state, right?
I am gonna make a few discreet inquiries. Stay tuned.

Wow, this is "Baur CSI"!!! You guys are good. I just wish I could track down my old Polaris silver Baur... I'm afraid it may have found its way into a scrap yard.
Btw, I found my coolant reservoir has oil in it. Isnt that great? I don't have to worry about the water pump being lubricated!!! M20b23 (ljet) -----> m20b25 motronic (motronic) is in the works...
Looking for a 1990-1992 BMW E30 3 series with airbags, if you got one for sale or see one. PM ME
Yep tom, guessing Mel janked the wheels and put them on his black 2.0 liter.
It broked.
@TomDC; Don't you have some old pictures of your old polaris Baur or, or maybe even only the VIN?
@Philly; that is actually an normal convertible, with hardtop. You can see that the part above the windscreen is tinted, Baurs have fabric above the windscreen.

B40541 appears to be a good starting point, but it certainly needs a lot of love. Is it yours? I should probably remember, but I don't.

A New Baur Mystery
OK, Baurhunters. Here are three pics of a white Baur from Oregon. You may recognize the last two pics: they are the white TC1 Baur that conkitchen bought in Oregon, brought to CA, and then transfomed into the red Baur that is now owned by docjohn in Arizona. That Baur bears the Baur tag 2565 which was once owned by Michael Baur (of the Baur family).
The first pic is a white Baur from Chicken Saw, Oregon in 2007. It is a 1981 323i baur - with a full zender kit and recaros. Check out those wheels. Are these pics all the SAME car?
How many white Baurs could there be in Oregon back in 2007-09?
And, of all the white Baurs in Oregon, how many of them have identical wheels?
Coincidence? I think you can see where I am going with this.
Stay tuned.... Baurspotting is on the case!
Everyone loves a mystery!
