Any Bauer owner had issues that can not start engine? The engine only turning unless I energize by contact point of fuel pump relay hold roller paper that show in photo! When doing it I hear a buzz sound and engine start running!
After engine start running about 10 minutes. I can start engine easy that without hold contact fuel pump relay by roll paper. But It sit over night or not driving long hours then I can not start engine. It only turn and turn. No fire it up!
thanks for helping!

Thomas,
I've had that fuel pump relay on my '84 320i fail for sure! It failed about 5 miles from home, so I removed it and broke the plastic cover off to get at the "innards". I tinkered with it a bit and got it into a makeshift "limp home mode".
I ordered a new aftermarket one and it worked, but it made the fuel pump run with the key switch on (unlike the old one which only ran when the engine actually started). I didn't like that, so I found a lightly-used OEM relay and installed it . . . but I always carry a couple of spare aftermarket "run with the key on" relays in the trunk "just in case".

So I need to buy fuel pump relay. I also have one after market but it didn’t last long. It not energize to make fuel pump buzz when I turn the key position 2 that ready start engine! That why I end up to come back use original one like I show on photo!

Thomas,
It sounds as though you need a new pump relay. That relay has multiple functions (as you are experiencing) unlike the ones used on U.S. market cars. Have you tried looking on RealOEM for the part number?

Jeff,
I bought after market one that show on photo. It works only 6 months and no more energize to make fuel pump buzz!. I come back use original 1286727 and I try to roll paper to close 2 contact points!
Yes. This model only 1 fuel pump relay. It expensive since I am not sure because of relay. I am thinking ground wire didn’t has good contact that why lead to low volt and the relay not enough volt to energize!
thanks
I hope that takes care of the problem for you, Thomas.

Hi Jeff,
I am trying to look at which ground that lead to low volt to make Fuel pump relay not energize when ignite on for ready start engine
Thomas, I wish I could hep with this question but my car is not here right now, and the only wiring diagram I have for the car is so poor that I can barely read it. As far as I can determine, there is no easy-to-read ETM for these Euro-spec cars.

Picking up a Baur Monday. Plan on shipping it back to the states in a few months. In the mean time I plan on driving it around Germany.

Klooney,
I should mention that mine currently needs a Getrag 240 transmission that is compatible with its 6-cyl. M20B20 engine. You wouldn't happen to have run across one "over there", would you . . ?

Jeff, only have pics from the ad. Will take some tomorrow when I pick it up. Let me look. Send me a message with price range, mileage etc.

Kris,
Well, obviously I'd like to buy one for $50.00 that was taken out of a car with 100 miles on the odometer, but that isn't gonna happen! Mine broke at 240K+ miles, so if you can find one with 150K miles on it I would b ecstatic. As far as price, I'm hoping for somewhere in the $200 - $250 range after the (hopefully) favorable exchange rate is factored in.

Hello all,
First time posting on this thread. I own a 1985 323i Baur TC2 (B43466-13) and have been slowly bringing it back to life for the past 2 years. Recently I ordered a new soft top, as the current one is beyond repair. When I went to source the seal that goes between the soft top frame and the vehicle, p/n 51710006415 it appears that it is NLA. Turner and ECS used to have these available......Has anyone been able to source these rubber seals recently or have any old stock sitting around? This is the only part holding up my new soft top install.

genero,
I am not certain where you would find that part; have you tried a couple of eBay searches using the BMW and Baur part numbers? Also, check with the guys on this page: http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/ They have always been helpful to me.
BTW, NICE Baur!

Thought I would post up a picture, my 87 Baur. 325E, auto.

Nice! Are those 15" Eueoweaves it is wearing, or something else?
Mine is into its second year of immobility. The Eurospec Getrag 240 transmission took a dump in late '19 and the retired engineer friend who is working on it (no one else would touch it) had to make one of the critical parts for it; others had to come from Europe. I'm hoping that this year is "the year"!

Yes, 15” euro weaves. Bilstein sport shocks and H&R sport springs. I am looking for euro bumpers, it needs them very badly. The baur gods are crying.
Honestly, I hadn't even noticed the presence of Federal bumpers in the photo of your car until you mentioned it. Best of luck with the search!
