After a number of false starts, the car is getting it's turn in the rotation. I have become it's care taker, going on 3 plus years and as it would happen the SCCA is contemplating a rule change for PF in the world of Solo2. If it in fact happens, you would be able to run an E30 with a 24 valve motor and be legal.
On a local bases I can run in what we call Historic 2, for cars up to 1985. The E30 got it's start in 1984 and as a continuation of the model it's "good to go".
All of the safety gear is out of date, but in the solo2 world it's not an issue. The fluids are getting changed. The oil pan gasket is getting changed. The half shafts are getting changed. It's getting a new radiator with an electric fan and a Red 46 sump guard.
Again, if anyone knows of William Garbato please let me know. Thank you.
I don't quite understand your post... are you selling the car... or are you the new owner and giving the previous owner a heads up on what your plans are for the car?
This is a great looking car. If I didn't already have a race car I would definitely be tempted. When I showed my wife the price of 7900 for a complete package she almost lost her breakfast. My last check for annual upgrades and refresh was 5k.
Thank you for the ping. I have the car up and running. In fact I just had it detailed, it looks great.
I had a chance to run the car at an El Toro autocross with the Cal Club, it was a blast. With any luck I will have it at VARA University, Buttonwillow, in January.
