I'm going to have to replace the RTABs. At 280k miles, I know they need it
For cost reasons, I am only doing the RTABs for now. I'll be saving my quarters toward replacing all other bushings in the rear.
I've got a set of M3 springs I was going to swap in and was wondering if during the RTAB replacement, is it simple to swap in springs at the same time? Did I need to unbolt more than the rear trailing arm at the chassis?
Also, is it worth installing the RTAB limiters? I've seen them mentioned and the squeaking issue.
you may have to disconnect the rear sway bar to let the trailing arm hang lower without undoing the rtab trailing arm. If you loosen the arm only I think it would provide enough clearance to do the spring swap. If you loosen both then for sure it would be enough clearance. Of course for either you want to loosen up the bolt at the bottom of the rear shock.
Limiters are good with stock rtabs. If you want less work try the poly rtabs. I have AKG blue 80A rtabs for sale if you're interested. Double check everything before you swap the springs. Don't get hurt! Good luck!
