For auto parts, let me add BMA Auto Parts:
www.bmaparts.com
Great prices and super great shipping costs (fast too) to Hawaii. I buy stuff from them almost exclusively now.
For car audio components, you can't go wrong with Sonic Electronix:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/
Great prices, good shipping costs to Hawaii and they are really good at picking up all the necessary accessories specifically for your car. I had an awesome experience with them.
Aloha!
Luciano
Tim is still around, live and sound. I have his number in case somebody is interested (PM me). He is an excellent BMW mechanic, and plus, he comes to your door!! He fixes the stuff I can't fix in my car (which is pretty much everything)

Parts:
BMA, ask for Patrick he gives me resonable shipment prices sent to Honolulu. And Super fast.
BavAuto, helpful and knowledgeable people. Fast shipment too.
Rock Auto: one of the best, if not, THE best parts distributor on the internet. No problems with products and no problems with returns or refunds.
Hawaii Imports very helpful and trustworthy.
O'Reiley's @ S. King Street. ask for Conrad, he is always helpful.
Repair:
Tim, I have his number pm me, I don't know if it is current; but I do receive his voice mail when I call him.
Mike: he owns an E36 and also used to modify and race them in the mainland. He is great for those of us who are physically limited on servicing our Bimmers. Honest and effecient, and very reasonably priced.
Aaron: master mechanic, only here for a limited time. He services helicoptors and military machinery. Trustworthy, honest, and no nonsense fast. Used to own a shop in the states.
PM me for their numbers.
Exhaust:
Exhaust Stytems of Hawaii is good. Great Service. I go to the McCully location.
Modern Muffler in Kalihi, N. King Street. This guy is still in business. He's been working on my dad's cars and my cars since . . . hana buttah days. I trust him lots.
He is old school. But hey, there is nothing more reliable than old school.
I called Mirage PDR to massage a few ripples in my door and hood this morning and Randall came to my office to do the job. He was on time, quick, friendly and very reasonable and even gave me a few freebie removals, and all under $100.
Great job from Mirage as usual!

I wish any of the more specialists one were open on Sundays. I need an ignition coil for my '03 M3 today.
I've used:
Central autobody - will never go there again
ESH - meh no complaints
VCS - for some minor work. cool guy
Hawaiian Tire - just to put on my spacers. super cool family with great service. might go there for next alignment
Pac auto - always brought my car there for alignment. also did my control arms and re-balanced my tires. super cool
Shea's detail - awesome work and shea is super cool. bought me and my dad groupons. we both paid more and got the upgraded package lol
pakshak - Ranney is super cool and takes a lot of time explaining and recommending products. prices are cheaper than online! I don't know how his shop is now but but his hours were really inconvenient for me so he would meet up with me on his way home.

Why are we putting the bad shops on here too?
I guess I only see one bad one for now.
BME. They changed the oil on my car with out taking out the oil. So yes it had twice the oil. The car was shaking when they gave it back to me. It took them two additional hours of me waiting around to get back to work and then they said that they simply overfilled it because of what their instructions said. I called back later and the truth came out. I left with the car still overfilled and they told me it was no big deal and if I thought it was still a prob to come back later. I won't say anything more about the body shop on here that was a topic of discussion not to far back.
I need a little more experience with this shop since they have only done sways, brakes, helping me out ALOT with my rim situation, some electrical issues, and fixed some fuel system issues for me.....but their work seems very reasonable and well done so far:

Only one branch that can do anything that is requires any modification which happens to be in Waipahu. So after I drove all the way over there because they can't read their emails and I had to pull it up on my iPhone, I arrived and was told that it would cost roughly three times what others have paid for the same work and that basically that is because they are the only ones in HI that know how to weld. If I "want it cheaper I should go to Midas or something." I would also have to leave the car for the whole day because it is a whole day job, that everyone else has been completing in about 1hr. Thank you for wasting my time and gas to drive over for a way over priced quote. Hopefully you don't get the next sucker either. Luckily this trip ended up be worth while:

They did a fantastic job on a custom exhaust setup for me in a little over an hour and gave me a fantastic price. I am very happy with them and will be going back for more work. I must also mention that they were very helpful in coming up with a system that would meeting my requests and were very professional. Its nice to see a clean well taken care of shop like theirs too.

They just finished painting my fifth set of rims that I have sent there. Always easy to work with and always turn out great.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!!
I have known Nate and Chris since they first opened. They are awesome and I would never buy equipment here on the island. What is really hilarious is to get one of their Kinetic batteries that you would think are to heavy to be obtained at a good price and have it shipped to you in 2-3 days. It comes out to roughly half of what you pay for it here. I think what makes their company work here is not only the cheap prices but the crazy fast shipping. Their customer service is top notch and I remember when they were faced with the choice of raising prices a little to offset hiring more customer service, they sent an email asking all their customers what they recommended. I will always order my equipment from these guys.

Has anyone dealt with titanium hawaii? Also what about m.c. autobody?
I recommend, A&A motorwerkes since they are down the street from me, fair prices and super convenient. Also American Tire company in Mapunapuna is great, I got 4 tires from them and an alignment. K.Ifuku radiator in Kalihi are okay but what I thought to be a $400 job turned out to be $1200 ugh.

Can anyone recommend a good tint shop? I saw an old thread but figured the info might be out of date.
I use Tintwerks as they are convenient and fast. They also do a good job. There is a member here that tints, but I can't remember the name of his shop or its location. He used to be by BMW, but I think he moved to Aiea or that general area. I think his SN was Eternal Hawaii?
Thanks, Beastmaster. I remember seeing something from the member who did tinting, but couldn't find it.
Anyone have any other suggestions? Otherwise will check out Tintwerks.
Thanks again.
