I agree, although swapped head unit and my Q series mb quarts on OEM amp with stock sub was not bad at normal levels

Although this is refurbished, ARC is audiophile quality.

+1 on Arc Audio. I've owned PDX amps and was not impressed, but I always assumed it was because they were Class 'D'. I may have to give the Arc XXD amps a listen sometime.

Is it smaller than the CD changer?

Wait, it only has 4 channel input, fail.

It's 6 channel input, I can email you a picture. It has front, rear , sub input. I don't have OEM changer but it's small, very small

Looks like you use a pair of RCA inputs as the sub channel input. There is a switch to indicate which pair of the two. See PDF on that page.

I like 6 inputs for RCAs because then I can control the sub independently from the head unit.

Are these leaps and bounds better than the now discontinued Blaupunkt digital amps?

The human ear probably can't tell the difference. Not to mention your listening context is a soft top roadster with plenty of wind and road noise.

You don't need a rear channel.

As for amps, I am waiting for the Rockford Fosgate boosted rail 75x4 amps to come out. I've heard the 300x1 amp and I was very impressed. Here's the demo for the 300x1 amp:

Design spec must've changed. ARC's own site shows 2 sets of RCA inputs. I'm liking where the industry is going with small amps. Not everyone want to make their cars into a Hot Import Nights show car. These small amps are much more practical for the real world. Make installers' lives easier too.

Very cool. They are out already. Search ebay for "rockford pbr". Reasonable prices.

The 300x1 amps are already out, but the 75x4 ones aren't. They are due to market in July. I could technically run 4 300x1 amps in the space that I am running the current 5 channel though.

Hopefully the 75x4 one will be good enough and give me my trunk space back.

Yah if I had spending cash I'd be tempted too. Got laid off in late April after kicking ass and working consistently 14 hour days for almost 6 months for the stupid company. I guess I learned my lesson: be as lazy and incompetent as possible, would've gotten a promotion instead.

You probably make more on unemployment... I know your health care coverage is better

Nope. Unemployment just barely covers rent, and I got a good deal on rent since I moved here (Vegas) at the very bottom of the real estate slump.

Unemployment is not even 1/4 of my salary. Good thing I saved.

Health coverage? What coverage? I have none now.

I was being sarcastic, I'm sorry about the job. The government rewards lazy people and punishes people like you who had a job and worked hard.

Man, I worked till 2 am for a client presentation the night before I got laid off. I did the work of two teams because the others slacked and procrastinated for weeks. 3 hours before I got the boot, I was congratulated for having the work the client selected out of 4 proposals (2 of which were mine). Just before I was given the bad news I was hard at work on another assignment. All of this after consistently delivering client-bought work for 3 months straight. My car, was consistently the last car to leave the entire business park since I started working there last June.

And to add insult to injury, the company told the unemployment judicator that I did not meet expectations and the clients were not happy... when the reason they gave me was "restructuring".

Sounds like a very poorly managed company. In the end, it might be a blessing in disguise you were laid off

I consider myself unemployed, so I feel your pain. I survive solely based off of low paying contract jobs which have no benefits and I have to hand a nice chunk of it to the government every year. Past 2 gigs (a website and some programming work) ended up not paying me and I have no way of fighting it. Life is great.
