    E31 850i 1991 diff ratio

    Hello,
    I recently bought 2 diff, one is a 91' e34 M5 and other is a e32 750il (year unknown).
My ride is a 850i from 1991 Aut., I would like to install a lsd into it, but I am not sure if the final ratio should be changed.
I ask for your opinion, because I feel my car a little slow from 0 to 100km/h and fast from 100 to 2**km/h.
If the e32 750il diff. or the e34 m5 are installed what behaviour will occur?
Can anyone inform the final ratio of all these diff., or how to read from them.

I prefer the the low rpm torque, and I hate the motorbike short gear and high rpm style (like Hondas).

    Thank you in advance,
    Olegário

...sort of contradictive here, You want faster off the line but can't deal with higher Rpm's? You want the M5 Diff and a set of wokke chips, I believe once installed, You will be to happy to go back, Great fun over stock.

You need to find the ratios on those diffs first. They're on a metal tag under one of the rear cover bolts usually. Or just turn the front flange and count how many turns till the side flanges go around once. The tags or the diff case will have an "S" on it if it's limited slip.
How come the middle half of any project always takes the most time?

ecently my 75,000 mile 1991 850ci m70 motor automatic trans started shimmying/loosing traction and flash in and out of traction control rapidly when accelerating over rough spots on the highway.Yes, im an aggressive driver but insist on frequent motor oil changes using full synthetic royal purple and also changed diff oil and trans fluid...Rear coil overs look like on the drivers side inside of rear tire is wet and i'd mistake it for brake line/caliper issue if it wasnt for the timing of the diff problem im talking about....now car seems to drive with one rear wheel only under power???is it an internal diff issue or is a clutch pack or external electronic part the issue? Also, can i simply install a regular 5 or 7 series diff and abandond the traction control?

Before treating more expensive parts - make sure that the rolling radius of all four tyres is equal (tyre size, inflation and wear). If one tyre is rotating faster than the others the traction control will keep activating.
