(This pic above wouldn't post, but it can be seen in post #123 on page 5 of the "Baur TC1 in the US ' thread.)

In addition to the pics that conkitchen has posted above, these pics are also related to the project he is working on: A Baur that has a connection to the Baur family; the white Baur that was a mystery to us for a while; and the present red bodied car. It is a fascinating story, and I don't even have all of it, but this car really is a Phoenix, rising from the remains.

You can find these pics, as well as various parts of the story in the "Baur TC1 in the US ' thread:

it is mentioned on page 1, page 5, and several other places.

I am sorry to hear that you are selling it, but... ya gotta do what ya gotta do. So good luck with your sale. This car has some historic provenance.... I hope someone will snap it up!

Smile Good home for a Baur

I been an outside observer to this forum for a while, but was lured to join by your posting. I've been looking for a 3 series Baur "driver" to gradually restore. I can offer a good home and can offer a painless transaction if it is still available and if it seems like a good fit.

    Would like to dialogue more.

Best wishes for your dialogue. Welcome to the forum. I hope something can be worked out so that this special car can continue it's restoration. If you do purchase this car, you will become an esteemed member of the Baurs in the US group, E21 Division. Estimated 50-75/100 members. Welcome! And you will have a Baur plate traceable to Michael Baur. Very cool.

Thank you for the welcome. I've admired these fine BMW specimens since I was in college in the 80's (giving away my age). Amazingly, I've had the support of my wife on this since it will seat our family of four (with two young boys who would think any vehicle without a roof is fabulous). I'm sure that they, like me, will come to appreciate the special qualities of these unique and rather rare vehicles.

Whether it can be this specimen or another, I'll sure appreciate the support of this forum.

    Thanks Again!

When I first got into the e21 I was not a big fan of the Baur, but thay have groune on me and I like them now. If I did not have my e21 and Bronco projects now I would jump on this. I have only seen one Baur in person and it was when I was when I was geting off the freeway and it drove pass me. I would love to see this car it gone.

Thanks for the reply, I'll find a few moments free to call and talk in person. Looking forward to it.
