So we schedule a dyno time and get it on the dyno. The area in red is red because that is where I made the last changes to the map. I TRIED EVERYTHING. Even said forget it and pulled the timing WAY down and started to slowly advance it till the tq curve started to fall off and I got right back to the same spot again. If I add 1-2 degrees in the red area portion of the map the torque starts to fall. Yet when I look at every map you guys have posted you are all 2-3 degrees more advanced.

BTW this dyno was on 91 pump with alchy meth injection.

    Anyway. Here is the map:

Hello, what compression ratio (rc) you are running?

Now this is really conservative timing. Unless your trigger setup is alright, you could literally use gunni's timing map instead of yours.

Justik, it goes above atmospheric, so must be modified
and the timing looks way too conservative to be stock at full (atmospheric) load
pretty sure thats what he has produced so far

well in theory, the timing up to atmospheric should be the same should it not? maybe even a little more advanced due to running lower comp ratios.
Ive seen NA tunes on m50's pushing 30 degrees or more, not saying its right...(on my research for my own setup)

torsten, Did you go to dyno run ? How many hp did you get from that engine ?
PS. As I see from screenshot you use megasquirt ecu, why don't setup factory ecu ?

Here is the timing table for our stock S62 11/1 CR with E85, locked Vanos. This is a safe tuning in order to limit torque. Dynoed at 500hp - 720 Nm

    Yes, I did a dyno run. I pulled 360hp / 530Nm with euro 98ROZ gas and 12psi of boost.
Why I use MS? Because it rocks! You can changed anything at any time. I guess you can't do this with an stock ECU.

Why you don't increase boost ? 12psi is too few for your cr 8.3:1. I think you can increase boost up to 20psi without any problem ...

Because the euro version of the M52 engine has a alusil block instead of the iron block.
Know I'm on 16psi -> anythings fine so far...

I know, because I have euro spec 328 I thought if you changed pistons for lower CR, you also had done something with block(put iron cylinder sleeves for example).

Bump because there is some decent info in here. Still amazed there is not a bigger database.

yup, and i mentioned that... i'm still having issues and don't want to push it until I figure it all out. So for now the car is pretty soft.

I have this nagging misfire/popping/lean stumble (not sure what it is), that seems to be quite random and only really apparent under light/med loads (although my dyno video of my exhaust shows random big puffs of black smoke as if there were misfire events). Nothing so far that I've tried has fixed the issue it's quite frustrating.
