Check fuse F36 in the rear power distribution box. Also remember that most head units have a fuse on their back.
The front fuse box lid will have a sticker on its underside stating what each fuse is responsible for. The rear fuse box will have a similar sticker on the inside face of the carpet cover.
Can you elaborate on what you mean when you say the radio won't work? (i.e won't turn on, no audio is heard, not accepting code, etc.)
thanks for the replies!
the radio will not turn on at all. i turn the knob and nothing.
i just checked fuse #18 on the front fuse box and it looked to be okay, even replaced the fuse with a spare and the radio still didnt work.
im about to check the rear f36 one right now.
Congrats on getting yet another 8 bro!
How is the radio harness? Loose? Intact?

If you just got the car and it has never worked since you picked it up there is a good chance the car had its aftermarket radio removed and the original one thrown back in (literaly)
thank you its a good feeling.
i just checked the fuse in the back of the actual head and it was broken
i though that it was surely the reason so i replaced it with a brand new fuse. and the radio still doesnt work.
as far as the wires and harnessing it looks all intact and is all plugged in. hmm
If you have a spare radio lying around and feel like dropping a few dollars for a harness and antenna adapter (I think it's a Scosche BW01B harness adapter and a Volkswagen VWAB antenna adapter), I'd recommend trying a different head unit. When I got mine, the radio wouldn't turn on at all. The fuse in the back of it was fine, but it just didn't work. Tried a spare head unit and all was well. From what I understand, the stock radio is pretty disappointing anyway.

hmm, i have the same radio in the pic below.
i dont think it pushes in, im fairly certain all it does is turn.
when turned all the way to the left it turns it off.
i could be wrong though, i havent used the stock radio in some years.
so all the fuses are good and everything seems to be plugged in.
