    Strange whining noise during acceleration

Need some help identifying a whining noise. Basic facts:

    1. 2001 530i, 110K miles
    2. New DISA valve, new CCV valve.
    3. Not running hot
    4. No error codes
    5. Only hear it when going forward. Nothing in reverse.
    6. Seems to be coming from front of car (hence I don't think it is the fuel pump.)
    7. Doesn't seem to change when i steer left or right.
    8. Gets higher pitched when i accelerate.

Overall, the car seems to be driving normally. Thoughts, suggestion, criticisms, etc.

Having same issue. Doesn't seem to cause any acceleration lag or anything like that on my 01 530i w 140k. We'll figure something out haha

Well a little while ago my dads 540i had a whining noise that I finally diagnosed as the center support bearing on the driveshaft. I would check that.

Mine has the whining noise from one of the pulley bearings going bad.
