E30 Comprehensive bulb list

After so many times people asking what bulb goes where, I decided to create a comprehensive list of lamps and where they are used in the car. This should be fairly accurate. Please post any corrections in this thread and I'll update the chart.

If a bulb is not listed here and it's one of the tiny lamps, it's most likely
a 2721 or 2721MF. Some switches have replaceable bulbs that are not listed.

I am interested in knowing what LED's are being used to replace the bulbs in the light bar for the OBC. If I remember correctly, there is a resistor/LED combo that is used. Looking for the wattage on stock light bar bulbs, and size of the LED.

Can't help you with that one. There are cosmetic compromises that I don't want to make when you use the LEDs. Try searching the forum for "LED OBC" or google "BMW LED OBC" to get started.

You chart shows ash tray 2721 as nla, I've recently sourced this part from my local BMW dealer, but did not keep paperwork to see if it was the same pn, anyhow, these are still available...but perhaps under another p/n.

I'm not surprised. The original 63217167000 does not show up in the online catalogs. I'll have to look at some of my stuff at home and see if there was a supersession that wasn't updated correctly.

Anyone know what bulb is used for the convertible dome light? Don't see it on the list but maybe I'm missing it. It's not the typical festoon bulb. I need to order a few and my vert is currently garaged a couple hours away. Thanks.

I couldn't find anything specifically on the cabrio dome light. If it's not a festoon bulb, could it be one like this?

This is the halogen bulb used in the rear view mirror map lights. If it is, it's PN 63311375003 (Sylvania 64113) and is a 10W bulb. I've seen suggestions to lower the wattage for the map lights to 5W due to heat. That is Sylvania 64111.

It is in the overhead check panel above the windshield, it's a single non-festoon bulb. It's been a while but I think it does look similar to the halogen bulb you linked but I think the top of the bulb has a smooth domed surface, not the pointed one that you linked. I may be wrong. Thanks for the help, this thread has been very useful to me and I've got it bookmarked.

Thanks Richard, this is very helpful for everybody. As a matter of fact I was looking into this bulb too. I searched this number in pelican parts catalog and it throws a 1,2 w bulb that is sold without the base.

Which bulb is it that goes in the AC & Recirculate switches? I think its the 2721 but im not 100% sure enough to go ahead and order them.
