just added an Installation Note to the original post.
INSTALLATION NOTE: I recommend using a synthetic grease on all mating surfaces to prevent squeaks. If you need to remove a bushings for any reason, remember that heat expands urethane & cold shrinks it, so you may need to pop an item in the freezer for a little while.
Glad to see this thread on the front page. I will be placing an order tonight.
Great stuff!
I may have missed it in the 5 pages of posts but, is there a package price for a guy who needs everything (with 25mm and 19mm sway bar bushings) except the M20 motor mounts?
I wanted to give positive feedback for everyone to see regarding the subframe mount bushings. I installed mine from Jesse yesterday, and it REALLY makes a difference in the way it handles!
There is a lot less body roll, and it handles much better! If you haven't done this, do it! Other than the allen bolt heads that hold the cover plate in place stripping out on one side, the removal and replacement is quick and simple...
I received mine from Jesse a couple days after ordering them, and will be sending back my old ones today...
Thanks Jesse!!
Tim
Ok getting ready for the new engine:
Wondering about the motor and tranny mounts, steering rack and rear subframe mounts...do they need synthetic grease?
And I told him they just have to be snug on the engine and tranny mounts...
tighting them too much will crack em...

Nah, not for any of those Joe. Really the only ones that really need grease are the sway bar bushings and trailing arm bushings. Maybe for late style control arm bushings.
It is also important to use a heat shield on the exhaust side motor mount bushing. The OEM 323i shield is perfectly fine, just make sure you didn't toss it long ago, or you'll either need to fab a new one or order one. I have my headers wrapped & that seems to be fine for mine.
Jason, I just boxed up yours & will drop them off tomorrow morning.

Excellent!
Now, as soon as I get an order from someone in Asia, Africa and Antarctica, I will have sold my creations to every continent. Although, I highly doubt there are any e21's in Antarctica.
Hey Jesse, I just sent payment for some CAB's. Hopefully this will cure my aweful shake. If not it's time to replace the rack.
I think I'm going to have to go the rack route. I'm entirely urethane up front and my tires, tie-rods, control arms, and strut mounts are brand new... Still got a slight shimmy. It's gotta be the rack... Maybe a slightly bent wheelOriginally Posted by vtbimmer
I sold this car after a very lengthy restoration, but it's just too pretty to remove from my sig.
Mine shakes in the steering wheel at all speeds. It's almost unbearable at 45. Ive measured rotor runout, replace inners and outers. Steering rack already has urethane bushings, wheels are straight, balanced, and hubcentric. If it's not the CAB's, it HAS to be the rack. It's driving me crazy. Takes all the fun out of driving the e21.
Sorry to hear. Mine is right around 75mph. I haven't looked at bearings yet... Maybe I should do those as well before replacing the rack.Originally Posted by vtbimmer

Jesse.........Cant thank you enough man. I replaced both front control arms along with your urethane bushings and the incredible shimy is gone. Cant stop smiling. It's such a pleasure to drive now.
Thank you so much for making these products for our cars.
Jesse- the cab's fit perfectly! Nice work!
I also wanted to just post some feedback here. Just got the 6 cylinder motor mounts installed. These things are awesome. I am looking forward to ordering all of Jesse's products for my car.
Above and beyond the products though, is the customer service. Jesse, as I understand it, does this as a side job. I can't imagine that he is making a whole lot of money on these parts. Everytime I have called he has been there to answer my calls and questions. great job.
Don't hesitate to buy these parts from this guy. Quality parts and top notch service. Thanks Jesse
Jester is a man of many talents! You should taste his fried rice
I'm still using some of his original "beta test" CAB's that were thrown on when my new 8mo old bushings popped out on the passenger side. Best bang for the buck ever for handling! I don't think that they are as tough as the ones he sells now, but they are still going strong since 2008. Never again will I have to buy what I can afford from autohausaz only to watch them disintegrate or pop out due to poor craftsmanship.
I got a box with some Eurometric (Jester) bushings in it. I got the inner and outer control arm bushings, the sway bar bushings and the steering rack bushings.
I was able to get everything but the steering rack bushings on in a matter of a couple hours. Fitment was good to perfect.
Before I didn't even know how much rattle and play I had in the front end. I guess I was just used to it. But, it was a night and day difference. Now the whole front end feels like its was cut from one piece of metal. Now there's no play, no 55 mph shimmy, no more odd little rattles from the front end.
Great products! I will be saving up my pennies to get the rest of the Eurometric goods as I can.
Nothing mind-blowing, just some quick iPhone pics.[/QUOTE]

nice but what about us early e21 guys?
Gary, the inner bushing for the early control arms is the same. Due to the way the bushing recesses in the early style control arms is cast (yes cast, not milled) there is really too much variation in order to make a "press-in" urethane bushing for. However, I can, and have, modified early style control arms by casting a one-piece bushing into it. I just so happen to have two brand new pairs of early style control arms ready to be modified. They are kind of involved to build, so I haven't been super motivated, plus it's been a really busy summer so far.
Other than that, there is the 22mm front sway bar bushings, that I have yet to build a mold for. (I did get a 29mm front sway bar mold built a couple weekends ago, so those are now available as well.)
Everything else is interchangeable between early & late.
jesse, just installed all new front end suspension. as much as i would love urethane in the control arms, i cannot reason the added expense with brand new parts in place. perhaps down the road. what are your thoughts on adding urethane sway bushings while other parts (control arms) remain. will this lead to dodgy handling?
