OT...my dad is thinking about buying a porsche...

1990-1994, does anyone have any advice, or any idea as to how much is maintenance costs are, i heard these bad boys are pretty steep to maintain, can anybody verify?

Advice (you asked for it !) :

Well, you love your dad, right ? So save him !

First, buy him a BMWCCA membership before he gets the PCA membership.

Then, drag his butt down to the bimmer lot and make him test drive a few of them.

Then, have his wife (or girlfriend or your mom, whichever is applicable, even if its all three) tell him how much they would rather see him driving a bimmer rather than a Pork.

If you can, drag him to a local chapter BMWCCA meeting.

In the end, you will either have saved him or generated an opportunity to always tell him later, "I told yo so !! "

On the ohter hand, it's not the maintenance costs that are out of hand with dem der cars, it's the repair costs. Repair and Maintenance are two different things. Bimmers are known to be more reliable and durable. Granted, maybe some Porsche models in some categories are faster, but Bimmers overall are more fun to drive.
